While Samsung is expected to introduce its new foldable phones on July 22, leaks about the Galaxy Z Fold 8 continue unabated. Finally, a photo allegedly taken in a Samsung store in South Korea claims that the yet-to-be-announced Galaxy Z Fold 8 is in the retail display area. It is noteworthy that the device in the image largely overlaps with the CAD-based design images shared previously.
The Reddit user who is the source of the leak states that he saw the device at a Samsung sales point in South Korea. According to the information in the post, the store employee verbally confirmed that the model on display was Galaxy Z Fold 8. Despite this, it is stated that the user is not allowed to examine the phone closely or take detailed photos. However, only a single shot taken from a distance has been shared. Although the quality of the photo is limited, the general design lines of the device can be seen and it looks compatible with the leaks that have emerged to date.
There may be other new models alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8
Only one device does not attract attention in the shared photo. In the image, there is a second foldable phone behind the model, which is claimed to be Z Fold 8, and next to it is another device with a clamshell form factor. Although no information was given about these models in the Reddit post, some comments suggest that the phone on the back may be the Z Fold 8 Ultra. Similarly, there are predictions that the model seen on the right is the Galaxy Z Flip 8. However, the identity of the devices in question has not been verified at this stage.
It has not been a common practice for Samsung to display its new products in stores before the official launch. In the past, the company has generally preferred to present its foldable models to the public simultaneously with the launch event. For this reason, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 photo allegedly displayed in the store is considered an extraordinary development compared to the current strategy.
On the other hand, there are also examples showing that Samsung has partially changed this approach recently. The company showed its triple-foldable concept device in a limited way at a technology event held in South Korea before the official launch. This raises the possibility that a similar pre-promotion strategy can be applied for new foldable models. However, there is no official statement made by Samsung regarding the accuracy of the store photo.
Despite all this, the image in question is only a leak for now. The source of the photo has not been independently verified, and whether the device is really the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will only become clear with the launch that Samsung is expected to hold on July 22. Despite this, the shared image stands out as a new sign that supports the information that has emerged so far regarding the design of new foldable phones.
