Samsung Galaxy A77 appeared in the Geekbench database

After the Galaxy A73, which Samsung launched in 2022, the A7x series had been silent for a long time. While no new model has been introduced in this segment, there are now strong signs that a new device called Samsung Galaxy A77 has been developed. The prototype device, detected in the Geekbench test database, contains remarkable details on both hardware and software.

While the Galaxy A77 was listed with the Android 16 operating system in the Geekbench test, it was subjected to a performance test with 8 GB RAM capacity. The chipset used in the device has not been fully identified yet. However, looking at the CPU configuration, it appears that this processor is similar to Samsung’s Exynos 2400 and 2400e models, but operates at lower clock speeds. This suggests that the processor in question is probably a lower-segment version of the Exynos 2400 family.

Samsung Galaxy A77 will be positioned in the upper middle segment

According to Geekbench data, this processor in the Galaxy A77 includes three 2.78 GHz Prime cores, three 2.3 GHz performance cores and four 1.82 GHz efficiency cores. Although this structure with 10 cores in total is similar to the configuration in Exynos 2400 and 2400e, it remains at a lower level in terms of clock speeds. This indicates that the Galaxy A77 will be positioned in the upper-middle segment, not in the flagship class.

It is claimed that this processor, which is likely to be included in the device, may be a version created by evaluating the low-frequency Exynos 2400 chips remaining on the production line. Samsung’s approach to evaluating such SoCs could offer both a cost-effective strategy and a performance-oriented alternative for mid-range users.

On the other hand, other technical details about the Galaxy A77 have not yet been made public. There are no leaks regarding basic features such as screen size, camera array, battery capacity. Despite this, the device is expected to be introduced in a similar time frame as the Galaxy A57 model, which was previously tested in Geekbench. This indicates that the launch date may coincide with March 2026.

Although Samsung has followed a consistent model update policy in the mid-segment Galaxy A series in recent years, it has not added a new member to the A7x series for a long time. Filling this gap with the Galaxy A77 may be a reflection of the brand’s goal of increasing its competitiveness in the middle segment. Additionally, testing it to work with Android 16 creates an expectation that the device will be more up-to-date and long-lasting in the software update cycle.
