Samsung has made an important update to its Quick Share application for Galaxy smartphone and tablet users. With this update, Quick Share’s daily file sharing limit has been doubled. Now users will be able to transfer up to 10 GB of data when sharing their files via links, QR codes or direct contacts.
Quick Share is known as Samsung’s wireless file sharing system that works over Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct. This system, which was introduced in the past months, made file sharing fast and secure. However, in order to better meet the needs of users, Samsung made some improvements to the Quick Share application.
What’s new with the Quick Share update
With the new update to Samsung’s Quick Share application, the file sharing limit has been increased from 5 GB to 10 GB. This increase will make things much easier for users, especially when sharing large files. In addition, the device identification feature has been improved with the update. Now, the names of nearby devices can be displayed in two lines, making it easier to identify devices.
Another important feature that comes with the update is that the total size of incoming files will be displayed in a pop-up window. This way, users will be able to see the size of the incoming file in advance and accept files more consciously.
The new version of Quick Share (13.6.51.13) is available for download on the Galaxy Store. However, it may take some time for the update to reach all users. Samsung plans to roll out the update gradually and says it will be available to all users in the coming days.
Quick Share and Android Nearby Share Integration
Quick Share works not only across Samsung devices, but also across other platforms. Earlier this year, Google integrated Android’s Nearby Share system with Samsung’s Quick Share system. This integration aims to provide consistency between the Android and ChromeOS ecosystems. Nearby Share on all Android phones and tablets has been renamed to Quick Share, and updated to Quick Share on Windows.
Increasing the daily file sharing limit provides a great advantage, especially for users who work with large files. Especially in the business world, it is important to be able to share large files quickly and securely. The new update of Quick Share responds to this need and improves the user experience.
