Redmi K90 will come with Snapdragon 8 Elite and 7100 mAh battery

Redmi continues its claim in the new generation Android phone competition. Redmi K90, the standard model of the K90 series, will be officially released soon. After the features of the K90 Pro Max model were announced yesterday, the features of the K90 have now been shared. The device with Snapdragon 8 Elite processor aims to have a say in the competition.

On the processor side, Redmi K90 uses Qualcomm’s 2025 flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. This processor is seen as one of the standout options in the Android ecosystem not only in terms of performance but also efficiency. Among the competitors targeted by the device are models such as Realme GT 8, iQOO Neo 11 and OnePlus Ace 6. Each of them competes in the market with similar hardware infrastructure. From this perspective, the hardware choices of Redmi K90 are not accidental.

Redmi K90 aims to stand out in its segment with its screen and case design

Cold forging production technique was preferred in the design of the device. The body created with this method provides advantages in terms of both lightness and durability. Having a metal middle frame, Redmi K90 has a pressure-resistant structure, just like the iPhone 17. However, it is stated that the feeling of the device in the hand is at a high level. The quality of the materials used in the production process contributes to the long-lasting use of the device.

On the screen side, the user is greeted by a 6.59 inch OLED panel. This panel has symmetrical and thin frames on all four edges. While the screen-to-body ratio reaches 94 percent, the viewing experience becomes more balanced. Although the resolution of the screen is not officially stated, there are strong signs that it will be at 1.5K. In terms of clarity of visual details, this level is sufficient for many users.

In terms of sound experience, the K90 uses a bi-directional symmetrical speaker system developed in collaboration with Bose. However, the rear speaker in the K90 Pro Max is not included in this model. Despite this, thanks to the symmetrical structure, sound output is provided in a balanced manner. It is stated that the device offers a satisfactory sound experience, especially when watching videos and listening to music. In addition to all this, the speaker system does a good job of stereo balance.

On the camera side, Redmi K90 has some remarkable features. The device is equipped with a telephoto periscope lens capable of 2.5x optical zoom. However, the full technical details of the camera sensors have not been disclosed yet. However, this level of optical zoom can offer the user flexible shooting possibilities. Especially in portrait and long-shot shots, the contribution of this lens can be noticeable.

One of the most striking features of the Redmi K90 is its battery capacity. This 7100 mAh battery offers energy that can go far beyond daily use. There is 100W fast charging support on the wired side. However, wireless charging feature is not available in this model. Despite this, the high-capacity battery, which charges in a short time, is considered sufficient for many users.

On the software front, the K90 comes with Android 16 operating system. The HyperOS 3 interface on the device is described as one of the lightest and smoothest software experiences developed by Xiaomi recently. Animations throughout the system have been simplified and application transitions have become more rapid. This helps the device maintain its fluidity, especially during long-term use. It is not yet clear how frequently software updates will be offered.

The color options that will be offered to users have already been determined. Redmi K90; It will be available on the shelves in three different color alternatives: white, light blue and purple. It is clear that these options appeal more to the younger audience. While the design language was kept simple, visual diversity was wanted to be achieved with colors. This makes the device appealing to a wider user profile.

It is gradually becoming clear how the Redmi K90 will be presented in global markets. Recently released certificates show that this model may be sold globally under the name Poco F8 Pro. Similarly, the K90 Pro Max model is also expected to be rebranded as Poco F8 Ultra. Xiaomi is trying to provide flexibility in regional markets with these different brand names. Thus, it can deliver the same hardware to different user groups more easily.
