Redmi is working on a gaming tablet with Snapdragon 8 Series processor

Redmi strengthened its tablet series by introducing the Pad Pro model in China in May 2024. This model, which has a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, was launched as Redmi’s most powerful tablet. However, according to new information shared recently on Weibo by Digital Chat Station (DCS), a reliable source, the brand is now working on a gaming-oriented tablet.

According to the first leak shared in August, Redmi was developing a flagship tablet with a compact design and it was stated that the device would have an LCD screen. At that time, it was reported that the device was in the prototype stage and would be released in 2025. Now DCS is talking about the same device and claims that this time the tablet will focus especially on gaming performance and will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 series processor.

The new Redmi gaming tablet may even surpass Xiaomi’s Pad 7 series in terms of performance. It is reported that the Pad 7 series will be released in two models, Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro, and these models will be equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processors, respectively. It is stated that both models will have 11.16 inch LCD panels.

Redmi is not the only company working on a gaming tablet

Recently, interest in gaming tablets has increased. For example, Nubia recently introduced a gaming tablet in China that it calls Red Magic Nova. This device stands out with its 10.9 inch LCD screen, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version chipset and 10100 mAh battery. It was also offered for sale with a price tag of 3999 yuan (19408 TL) with 120W fast charging support.

The new gaming tablet developed by Redmi is expected to have a similar feature set. However, more details about the device are not yet clear. It is possible that more information about the device will emerge in the future.
