The Red Magic Nova gaming tablet was introduced in China earlier this month and is now rolling out to the global market.
Red Magic claims this tablet is the best for triple-A gaming, and it backs it up with a powerful chipset, a capable display, a large battery, and an advanced cooling system. Inside the tablet is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Edition — this is a higher clocked version with a Cortex-X4 core running at 3.4GHz and a 1GHz GPU. This chipset has the same performance level as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 used in Samsung’s Galaxy models and stands out as the best chipset in the Android world.
However, while Samsung devices use passive cooling, Red Magic Nova has a 9-layer cooling system and a turbofan rotating at 20000 RPM. Between Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and this fan, there is a heat pipe, air duct, heat spreader alloy, graphene, copper foil, thermal conductive gel, motherboard copper foil and an all-metal aerospace aluminum body. Red Magic states that this detailed system reduces the core temperature by 25°C.
The tablet comes with a 10100mAh capacity battery and offers 80W fast charging support. Red Magic promises 10 hours of gaming and around 19 hours of normal use.
Red Magic Nova’s all-metal body is complete with a CNC-carved midframe, 45-degree anti-slip bevel, and an anodized back cover. The weight of the tablet is 520 grams and its thickness is only 7.3 mm.
Red Magic Nova has a 10.9-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 2880 × 1800 pixels and offers a 144 Hz refresh rate. Additionally, touch sensitivity can go up to 840Hz. While there is a 20 MP camera on the front, there is a single 50 MP camera on the back.
