Qualcomm has announced the new processor that will activate the mid -segment phone market. Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 introduced under the name of this chipset, the Snapdragon 7 Genes 3 in 2023 direct succession. The new model comes with remarkable improvements, especially on the CPU and GPU side. Developed with the production process of 4NM, the processor aims to bring efficiency together with performance.
The processor with Kryo architecture is preferred by a core arrangement in the form of 1+4+3. The main nucleus running at 2.8 GHz is accompanied by four performance core at the 2.4 GHz frequency. However, the productivity core of three 1.8 GHz in order to save energy savings is also part of the structure. Qualcomm says this new structure works 27 %faster than the previous generation.

On the graphics side, the improvements made to Adreno GPU are remarkable. The performance has increased by 30 %compared to Snapdragon 7 gene 3. This rise means more stable square speeds and visual quality increase, especially in mobile games. In addition, some of the Snapdragon Elite Gaming features are now on this chip set.
Not only the graphics, but also on the artificial intelligence side, there is a serious improvement. Updated Hexagon NPU provides 65 %higher performance in artificial intelligence operations. This increase allows you to perform operations such as image processing, sound recognition and text production much faster on the device. Qualcomm emphasizes that productive artificial intelligence models such as Stable Diffusion 1.5 can now be run directly on the device.
The features offered by the new chip are not limited to the processing power. LPDDR5 RAM support is provided on the memory side, while UFS 4.0 support attracts attention in data transfer. Thus, users will have a more fluent experience in terms of both multiple task experience and application opening times. The triple 12-bit spectra ISP is offered for photo and video operations.
The camera features are also significant. Snapdragon 7 Genes 4 supports photography at a resolution of up to 200 megapixels. A wider dynamic range is offered with 10-bit photo support for color accuracy. On the video side, 30 FPS can be recorded at 4K resolution.
It also contains new generation features in terms of connection options. The 5G connection support is offered in the SUB-6 GHz band, while Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 technologies are also integrated into the processor. The support of codecs such as APTX Lossless and APTX adaptive has been preserved in wireless sound transfer. In addition, Qualcomm’s extended personal field network technology called XPAN also found a place in this chip.
The Snapdragon 7 gene 4 draws attention not only with the data on paper, but also with the interest of manufacturers. Honor, Vivo and Realme brands equipped with this processor will be introduced in the coming months. Especially the Honor 400 series is expected to be the first phone with this processor.
