Preparations for One UI 9 have begun for Samsung Galaxy S25

While Samsung is accelerating the development of the Android 17-based One UI 9 version, it is stated that the update has entered the internal testing phase for the Galaxy S25 series. The company recently released two separate One UI 9 beta updates for the Galaxy S26 series. In addition, information had emerged that One UI 9 tests were continuing on the Galaxy S26 FE model, which has not yet become official.

New information shows that Samsung has now included the Galaxy S25 family in One UI 9 preparations. It is currently unknown which software version the company is testing. Despite this, current developments indicate that the Galaxy S25 series may be included in the One UI 9 beta program in the coming weeks. Considering Samsung’s update schedule in the past years, it will not be a surprise if flagship models are among the first devices to try new interface versions.

Samsung has become one of the noteworthy manufacturers in delivering Android updates faster in recent years. Long-term software support, especially for flagship phones, has made the company’s update policies more visible to users. For this reason, the fact that One UI 9 has started to be tested on the Galaxy S25 series stands out as a remarkable development in terms of reaching the new version to a wider user base.

One UI 9 will first be available on new foldable models

Samsung had previously confirmed that One UI 9 would be included in the new generation foldable phones for the first time out of the box. The company is expected to introduce three different foldable models this year. These include Galaxy Z Flip8, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra.

According to industry sources, Samsung may announce its new foldable devices at an event in London on July 22. Official confirmation has not been made yet. Despite this, leaks and information from supply chain sources indicate that the company will continue its tradition of introducing new products during the summer period.

Since One UI 9 is developed on the basis of Android 17, it is expected to come with performance improvements, security updates and various innovations regarding user experience. However, Samsung has not yet announced all the features of the new version. For this reason, there is no definitive information about the scope of the changes that will take place in the interface.

What is known for now shows that Samsung is continuing the One UI 9 development process simultaneously on multiple device series. The continuation of the beta program for the Galaxy S26 series and the start of internal tests on the Galaxy S25 models reveal that the company is making extensive update preparations. It is expected that the innovations that One UI 9 will bring will become clearer with the first Galaxy S25 beta version that may be released in the coming weeks.
