Along with its new smartphones and smartwatch, Google also introduced its wireless headphones called Pixel Buds Pro 2. The headphones, which are the follow-up to the 2022 Pixel Buds Pro, bring many improvements.
First, the new headphones feature Google’s own Tensor A1 processor, which offers “powerful performance.” This power is reflected in the fact that it provides twice the noise cancellation in the mid-frequency range compared to the original Pixel Buds Pro. In addition, the active noise cancellation feature can adapt to the user’s environment three million times per second.
Google’s new headphones are apparently designed using 45 million data points from different ears, promising to be comfortable for all-day wear. The headphones come with 11mm drivers and support spatial audio with head tracking. In addition, Gemini can be used via the Gemini mobile app.
Google says its new headphones use beam-forming microphones, wind-blocking mesh covers, and Google AI to make calls even clearer. The Buds Pro 2 support Google’s new Find My Device network. Those who lose their earbuds or case can have their phones play a sound to help find them. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 also supports multipoint connectivity.
The Pixel Buds app brings support for five-band custom EQ and offers software updates for the headphones. Google promises up to 8 hours of listening time with ANC on (12 hours with ANC off). This goes up to 30 and 48 hours with the charging case, respectively. It’s also worth noting that the case supports wireless charging.
Pixel Buds Pro 2 comes in four color options
The Pixel Buds Pro 2, available in Porcelain, Hazelnut, Winter Green, and Peony, are available for pre-order in the US for $229. The headphones will be available on shelves on September 26.
