OpenAI imposed temporary restrictions on Chatgpt’s visual production tool to protect systems

ChatGPT Visual Production Tool has pushed the limits with the interest of users. OpenAI imposed a temporary restriction in order to avoid any more difficulties in the face of intense demand. Sam Altman, CEO of the company, said in a statement on X that the GPUs “melts”. Although the appreciation of the visuals creates satisfaction, systemic resistance limits have been reached.

The visual creation feature has become more impressive with the GPT-4O. As the level of realism increased, difficulties such as placing texts correctly in the visuals were largely exceeded. However, it is seen that the technical infrastructure cannot adapt to this advanced production capacity sufficiently. The intense interest of users temporarily broke the balance of the system.

OpenAI began to take some measures to alleviate this situation. The visual production capacity planned, especially for free users, has been postponed. In addition, it is announced that these users can create up to three images per day. The company plans to keep this limitation temporarily to stabilize the system.

The new visual production feature that comes with the GPT-4O model offers significant differences compared to previous models. The quality of the visuals produced is not only limited to higher resolution, but the stage fictions were made more consistent. These technological developments have increased the interest of users. In addition to all these, this advanced system caused the need for high hardware.

However, this hardware pressure, which comes with increasing demand, cannot be solved only by software improvements. OpenAI’s GPUs are currently working with high intensity, which temporarily slows down some services. Limitations are therefore made in features such as visual production, voice responses and live interaction. Providing systemic balance is now the company’s priority goal.

CATGPT restrictions to visual production tools are not permanent

Altman says that the restrictions are not permanent. Nevertheless, it seems possible to encounter such limitations in the short term. Because the demand reached a much higher level than expected. It may take time for the infrastructure to reach this demand.

The company’s infrastructure development is still ongoing. Steps are taken to increase GPU productivity and optimize energy usage. But it seems to take some time for these efforts to give results. Until then, temporary limitations will make the system survive.

All these developments once again show that artificial intelligence -based content production is not limited to software capabilities. Technical equipment becomes as decisive as algorithms in the success of these systems. For this reason, the scalability of artificial intelligence services is strictly dependent on the hardware capacity. OpenAI is expected to be patient until we re -establish this balance.
