OpenAI brings enterprise ChatGPT experience to separate app on iPhone

OpenAI has released a new ChatGPT application for iPhone and iPad users on the App Store. This version, called ChatGPT for Intune, directly targets corporate and education-oriented use cases. According to the information provided by the company, the application was developed to comply with the security and device management requirements of institutions using the Microsoft Intune infrastructure. Thus, employees and students will be able to access the ChatGPT service via mobile devices while adhering to institutional policies. The application, which has recently been added to the solutions OpenAI offers for corporate structures, appeals especially to organizations that require strict control over IT management.

Microsoft Intune stands out as a mobile device management platform that allows companies and educational institutions to centrally manage their employee devices. Many organizations only allow the use of Intune-managed applications for data security and access control reasons. The new application published by OpenAI also meets this need. In addition, the application is offered free of charge and can synchronize users’ chat history between devices. OpenAI states that recently prominent artificial intelligence features such as visual production are also included in the application.

The capabilities offered by the application focus on corporate workflows beyond the standard ChatGPT experience. Users can create images or edit existing images with text commands. In addition, real-time voice calls can be made thanks to Advanced Voice Mode support. This feature provides hands-free use, especially for users working on the move. On the other hand, thanks to the file and photo upload support, documents can be summarized, important information can be extracted from the contents, or questions can be asked directly about the uploaded files.

ChatGPT for Intune focuses on business-focused use cases

According to the details shared by OpenAI, the application; It can also be used in daily business processes such as drafting e-mails, editing text, creating reports and summarizing meeting notes. In addition, it also offers support for productivity-oriented tasks such as project planning, idea development and to-do list creation. On the education side, functions such as producing step-by-step explanations on certain topics and summarizing research contents attract attention. In addition to all this, the ability to quickly respond to users’ general questions is also maintained.

From the perspective of corporate users, the most striking aspect of the application is that it works in compliance with the security and management infrastructure. However, OpenAI has not yet shared comprehensive technical details about the additional security layers that differentiate the application from the standard ChatGPT version. Despite this, it is thought that Intune integration will facilitate distribution and access management, especially in large-scale companies. Choosing a separate application on the iOS side can also help IT teams enforce application policies more clearly.

In addition, OpenAI’s new plans for mobile platforms are also on the agenda. It is stated that the company may soon transfer some Mac control features related to Codex to the iPhone side. Although no official statement has been made yet, it is said that this may include remote control or task management functions for developers. ChatGPT for Intune application is currently available for download on the App Store.
