OnePlus Nord 5 is preparing to overtake 13T with a large battery

OnePlus’s new model Nord 5, which will activate competition in the middle segment, has begun to gather attention without being introduced. The latest information on the Tuv Rheinland database shows that the device will stand out with its battery capacity. According to the information in the certificate, the OnePlus Nord 5, which carries the CPH2079 model number, will have a 6650 mAh battery. This capacity leaves the 6260 mAh battery of OnePlus 13T.

OnePlus 13T had reached serious sales figures immediately after being launched in China. The revenue of 276 million dollars in just 10 minutes revealed the interest of the model. Nevertheless, it is noteworthy that Nord 5 promises a performance over 13T on battery. This means that users may not need charging longer in daily use.

What features will OnePlus Nord 5 carry?

According to TUV data, Nord 5 will provide fast charging support with 80W wired. Earlier rumors claimed that the device would charge at 100W speed. However, this support seems limited to 80W in the last listing. This is frustrating some of the previous expectations.

However, the same sources suggested that Nord 5 would have 7000 mAh batteries. However, this capacity seems to be 6650 mAh in current information. Nevertheless, this level is higher than many competitors on the market. This can allow users to achieve longer screen time.

The features of the device on the screen and processor side are still not finalized. Previous information pointed to the 120Hz OLED display and MediaTek Dimensity 9400e processor at a resolution of 1.5K. Although these components are not confirmed in the Tuv certificate, the device’s performance claim continues. It is clear that OnePlus is trying to establish a performance-pill balance with this model.

Information about the cameras is currently in contradiction. A leak argues that the rear camera will come with a 50MP main sensor and 2MP auxiliary lens. Another source claimed that an 8MP ultra wide -angle sensor will be accompanied by the 50MP main camera. These differences suggest that the device can be offered by different camera configurations by regions.

Some sources say that Nord 5 may actually be a global version of the ACE 5 Racing Edition. In particular, the overlap of model numbers supports this claim. However, there is no official verification from the OnePlus front. For this reason, exactly which identity of the device will be introduced, it still remains unclear.

Large battery capacity may require some changes in the design of the device. A relatively thin model, such as OnePlus 13T, has a 6260 mAh battery, while the 6650 mAh battery in Nord 5 can increase the thickness and weight of the device. How OnePlus will solve this situation is a matter of curiosity. Providing high battery performance without compromising lightness is a serious balance for every manufacturer.

The receipt of the TUV certificate shows that the device is close to the market. In general, the devices that come to this stage are officially introduced within a few weeks. Therefore, a long wait may not be required for the exit of Nord 5. With the launch, all hardware features and price information will be clarified.
