One UI 6 Watch update for Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 is available

Samsung has started to release the Wear OS 5-based One UI 6 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic models. This update, which has been in beta phase for a long time, is offered to users as a stable version after the testing process is completed in the USA and South Korea. The 136 MB update also includes the October security patch.

Users participating in the beta program will be the first to receive the update. Following this program, which is carried out only in the USA and Korea, the stable version is expected to come to the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 4 series in a short time.

The One UI 6 Watch update was introduced for the first time in July with the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra. There are some notable changes in the user experience with the update. The new Quick Panel and notification cards have been redesigned and gained a more modern appearance. In addition, with the update, a new font has been added to the devices and a new touch gesture called “Double Pinch” offers the opportunity to perform faster operations. The Always-on Display feature now has touch sensitivity and has become more practical to use.

With the update, the Samsung Health application has also been renewed. With the artificial intelligence-supported “Energy Score” feature, users’ energy levels are analyzed in more detail. This feature helps users better track their daily energy consumption and rest needs. In addition, improvements in sleep and activity tracking aim to help Galaxy Watch users achieve their health and fitness goals more easily.

Samsung will also roll out the update to pre-Galaxy Watch 6 models

Samsung’s Wear OS 5-based One UI 6 Watch update first reached Galaxy Watch 6 users who participated in beta testing in the USA and South Korea. Although the beta process ended with the release of the stable version, Samsung did not give a clear date for its distribution to other countries. Still, the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 4 series are also expected to receive the update in the coming weeks. This shows that Samsung has complied with the update policy and is determined to keep the user experience up to date.
