OctaMeet expands live translation and broadcast tools

OCTAPULL has added new meeting tools to the mobile, desktop and web versions of its video conferencing service OctaMeet. This step, which shows the transformation of online work platforms into office suites, includes innovations ranging from attendance tracking to voice translation, according to the company’s product update dated September 28.

Meeting hosts can now randomly select a person from among the participants and track who attended the session from a separate list. In addition, the countdown timer allows everyone to see the remaining time for the presentation or question-answer session.

Single-question surveys aim to collect quick feedback during the interview. While participants select one of the options, the results can be viewed within the meeting. The developed live subtitle feature includes translation and appearance settings.

Voice translation added to the web version also allows the translated speech to be listened to instead of just being read in writing. However, the company does not detail the language list and usage limits supported by this feature in its announcement. Therefore, the experience may vary depending on meeting language and browser.

Live broadcast and video sharing has also been renewed

OctaMeet offers the option to livestream the meeting via YouTube, LinkedIn Live, Facebook Live, Twitch and Restream. On the other hand, YouTube videos shared via link can be played simultaneously on the participants’ screens. This approach aims to reduce the image and audio delay experienced in screen sharing.

Renewed interface; It brings together meeting, messaging and file sharing tools in a more organized structure. Features such as attendance reports and surveys can make the organizer’s job easier, especially in training, webinars and large team meetings.

To summarize, the update turns OctaMeet from just a video calling service into a more comprehensive tool for meeting management and broadcasting. The main difference will be the accuracy of voice translation and the stability of the new tools in intensively attended sessions.
