Insta360 introduced Insta360 Flow 2 Pro, the new version of the Flow Pro gimbal model developed for smartphones. The company announced that the Deep Track 4.0 artificial intelligence tracking technology in the new device can now track multiple people at the same time and makes framing options even more flexible. Additionally, the device’s retractable tripod legs have been strengthened, providing a more robust experience as a hands-free autonomous camera operator. Insta360 Flow 2 Pro was released at a price of $159.99.
The device, which has two different color options: Stone Gray and Summit White, is approximately $10 more expensive than the Flow Pro model released last year, but has the same price tag as the first Flow gimbal model.
Like the original Flow Pro model, Flow 2 Pro supports Apple’s DockKit framework. This way, the gimbal can track people by working with the iPhone’s native Camera app and third-party camera apps like Blackmagic Camera. In addition, a light ring on the device visually informs users whether the tracking feature is active or not.
However, Flow 2 Pro offers much more capability when used with Insta360’s own app. This app, available for iOS and Android, can track multiple people simultaneously using Deep Track 4.0 technology, ensuring a moving group remains centrally located within the frame. The system can track different elements such as animals and objects other than people, and can track a target while zooming in up to 15 times.
One of the innovations added to Flow 2 Pro is the Pro Framing Grid feature. Users can determine the position of the tracked object within the frame by choosing one of nine different frame frames. Thus, the need for the target to always remain in the center is eliminated, making more creative shots possible.
Insta360 Flow 2 Pro is lighter than its predecessor
The new model is lighter than the previous version (366 grams), weighing 357 grams. The device offers a 10-hour battery life when used on tripod legs on a flat surface. However, when continuous stabilization of the hand is required, this period may be reduced; Insta360 does not specify an exact duration in this case.
A new mirror located in the gimbal’s mounting area allows users to frame themselves when taking selfies using their phones’ high-quality rear cameras. Additionally, for situations where the screen is not visible, Insta360 also offers an innovative feature that allows remote control of the device and recording. Users can control the gimbal via an additional smartphone or Apple Watch. While framing settings can be made on the Apple Watch screen, zooming can be performed thanks to the Digital Crown.

Insta360 Flow 2 Pro aims to offer smartphone users a more advanced video shooting experience with multi-person tracking, creative framing options and remote control features. Thanks to its developed artificial intelligence technology and ergonomic design, it stands out as a very attractive option especially for content creators and amateur video enthusiasts.
