Fairphone, known for its easy -to -be repaired phones, appeared on the stage with a new model after a two -year hiatus. This new device, called FairPhone 6, brings the company’s sustainable technology approach further. FairPhone 6, which has smaller sizes than the previous model, is also 9 percent lighter. Nevertheless, the battery with a capacity of 4.415 mAh offers a period of approximately 53 hours of use.
The battery change continues the tradition of FairPhone; It is possible to remove the battery by removing only seven screws and replace them with a new one. This approach offers a practical solution for those who want to use the device long -lasting. The internal structure of FairPhone 6 is also designed as modular. Thus, a total of 12 parts, such as the screen, battery and USB-C port, can be replaced by users.
FairPhone 6 takes on a different way of use with accessories
One of the most important innovations in the design of the device is that modular accessories can be integrated into the back panel. Accessories such as card holder or finger ring can only be installed and removed with two screws. This feature provides both functional use and personalization. Although this idea seems to be similar to Nothing’s CMF series, the variety of accessories needs to be increased in order to achieve real benefit.
On the hardware side, FairPhone 6 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor. This processor is accompanied by 8 GB RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. For users with increasing the need for storage, there is a possibility of expanding up to 2 TB with MicroSDXC card support. These technical components keep the device at a level that can make it competitive in the middle segment.
A remarkable improvement has also been made in the screen features. Instead of the 90 Hz display in FairPhone 5, FairPhone 6 6.31 -inch LTPO OLED display with a renewal rate of 120 Hz was used. Although the screen size is slightly shrinking, the feeling of fluency has increased. The advantages of LTPO panels in terms of color accuracy and image quality positively affect the user experience.
For the camera, FairPhone 6 offers a simpler structure than its predecessor. The rear has a 50 MP main camera and a 13 MP ultra wide angle sensor. On the front is a 32 MP perforated camera. However, it can be said that FairPhone 5 has taken a step back according to the triple 50 MP camera system.

Some differences stand out in the physical structure of FairPhone 6. The rear camera protrusion was removed and the lenses were placed directly on the rear panel. This simplified design provides advantage both in terms of visual and modular accessories. Since the lower part of the rear panel can be easily replaced, users can shape their phones according to their needs.
FairPhone 6, which is sold in Europe at a price of 599 euros, is offered with three different color options, black, green and white. For users in the USA, the device can only be obtained through Murena. The Murena version comes with a privacy -oriented /E /OS operating system free from Google services. The price of this version is determined as $ 899.
A new software feature called FairPhone Moments was introduced with this model. This mode, which is activated with a physical button on the side of the device, allows the user to switch between a fully equipped phone experience and a simplified usage style. This mode was developed for people who want to use technology more consciously. It is aimed to reduce the notifications and the elements that distract attention.
FairPhone 6 is also ambitious on the software support side in addition to hardware developments. The company promises a five -year warranty for the device and the software update for eight years. However, the IP55 -level water and dust resistance shows that the device will provide limited protection under some conditions.
