New Chromebook models will be offered with a one-year Nvidia GeForce Now Fast Pass membership

With a new deal developed in collaboration with Google and Nvidia, users who purchase a Chromebook will get free access to a new cloud gaming plan called GeForce Now Fast Pass for a year. This new plan allows users to play more than 2,000 games from their existing Steam, Epic Games or Xbox game libraries directly from the cloud, without facing any ads or waiting in queues.

Although the GeForce Now Fast Pass is similar to the free plan that Nvidia currently offers, it has some important differences. While players on the free plan often face waiting times exceeding 2 minutes, Fast Pass subscribers can bypass these waits and access the games directly. In addition, Fast Pass completely frees the user experience from ads. This means a more seamless and faster gaming experience.

Gaming experience on Chromebook could improve with this collaboration

Although Fast Pass offers a smoother cloud gaming experience, it also brings with it certain limitations. Under this plan, users will have a total of 10 hours of cloud gaming time every month. A maximum of 5 hours of unused time can be carried over to the next month. This feature offers more flexible usage for users who prefer to play games from time to time.

Nvidia’s current paid GeForce Now plans start from $9.99 per month (109 TL in Türkiye) and offer technical advantages such as higher resolution, faster frame rates, RTX ray tracing support. These plans also provide access to a larger game library, including thousands of “installation required” games. These games cannot be played without being loaded onto Nvidia’s servers, but they can offer more advanced experiences in terms of performance.

According to the statement made by Google, all users who purchase a new Chromebook will gain free access to GeForce Now Fast Pass for 12 months. However, apart from this promotion, no clear information has yet been shared about how much the Fast Pass will cost on its own. This detail is expected to be announced in the future.

In addition to all this, this new collaboration may be effective in making cloud-based gaming platforms reach wider audiences. Making high-quality gaming experiences possible, especially on devices such as Chromebooks that are limited in terms of hardware, increases the appeal of cloud gaming services. The ability of users to play games with high performance without downloading games to their computers may redefine traditional hardware requirements in the long run.
