Meta launched its new Seller application in the USA, targeting users who regularly sell through Facebook Marketplace. The application, available on iOS and Android platforms, brings together tools that make the Marketplace experience more professional under one roof. Equipped with features such as artificial intelligence-supported ad creation, combined message box, inventory management and sales performance analysis, Seller aims to facilitate the work of users, especially those who list a large number of products. Facebook Marketplace will continue to be used through the existing application for individual users.
Working directly in sync with Marketplace, the Seller application automatically carries users’ current listings, message history and sales records. New ads created through the application are also instantly published on Facebook Marketplace. This way, sellers don’t have to re-create their accounts or manually transfer their existing content. Meta states that Seller offers a more organized and efficient working environment, especially for users who manage multiple listings.
Meta Seller app offers artificial intelligence-supported sales tools
The main screen of the Seller application collects the transactions that sellers need to pay priority attention to in one place. Orders waiting to be shipped, customer messages that need to be answered, and advertisements with suggested price updates can be viewed in this section. In addition, summary information about sales performance is also available on the same screen. Thanks to this structure, it is aimed that users can follow daily sales processes without switching between different screens.
The ad creation process also stands out as one of the prominent innovations of the application. When the user simply uploads product photos, Meta AI can step in and automatically fill in fields such as title, description, category and suggested price. Thus, while the ad preparation time is shortened, the workload of sellers, especially those who list a large number of products, is reduced. In addition, thanks to the bulk ad creation feature, it is possible to add more than one product to the system at the same time.
The app collects all conversations with recipients in one unified message box. Since the messages are grouped on a product basis, all correspondence regarding a particular ad can be followed on a single screen. This approach especially helps users who sell many products at the same time to manage their communication processes more regularly. In addition, sellers can access a separate communication history for each product without getting lost in different conversations.
In addition, Seller also includes a detailed reporting system that provides performance analysis. Users can see which ads were viewed more, how many clicks they received, how many messages were created, and which products resulted in sales. The data obtained aims to facilitate decision-making on pricing and advertising regulations. These analysis tools offered by Meta transform Marketplace into a more comprehensive sales management environment rather than just a platform for posting ads.
On the other hand, the Seller application brings Facebook Marketplace’s community-oriented second-hand shopping approach, which has been prominent for years, closer to a more professional structure. This change is reminiscent of the transformation seen in platforms such as eBay and Etsy in the past. However, individual users will be able to continue selling directly through Marketplace. Therefore, the new app does not replace the existing experience; It is positioned as an additional management tool for users who sell more intensively.
According to the data shared by Meta, Facebook Marketplace celebrates its tenth anniversary this year. Today, the platform reaches more than 1 billion monthly active users worldwide and approximately 430 million new product listings are published every month. The Seller application is initially available to iOS and Android users aged 18 and over in the USA. In addition, the web version is also being tested for users who download the application. Meta, together with Seller, also launched the new Verified program, which enables identity verification using artificial intelligence-supported facial recognition technology. The company states that the Seller application will be developed with new features over time in line with feedback from sellers.
