Motorola X70 Air opens to the world as Edge 70

Motorola introduced Edge 70, the global version of the X70 Air model developed specifically for China, to users in the European market. The promotion was carried out quietly on the brand’s official websites in Poland and Germany. With this announcement, all technical details of the device became clear. Edge 70 draws attention with its design, material quality and screen technology.

On the design side, Motorola seems to have chosen a different path this time. A textured nylon coating is used on the back surface, and this detail gives the device both an aesthetic atmosphere and a better grip feeling. The choice of aircraft grade aluminum in the frame leaves a positive impression in terms of durability. While there is Gorilla Glass 7i on the front, it is also stated that the device has passed certain MIL-STD 810H durability tests. Looking at all these material choices, it becomes clear that Motorola attaches importance not only to performance but also to physical security. In addition, color options also positively affect the overall perception of the device.

Motorola Edge 70 comes with powerful technical details despite its compact structure

The device is available in three different Pantone-approved color options: Gadget Grey, Lilly Pad and Bronze Green. All of these colors have a special surface texture and the feeling of this texture on the hand is quite positive. The device, which has a visually simple but modern line, seems to have melted simplicity and premium perception in the same pot in its exterior design. While Motorola prioritized visuals in this model, it also tried not to make technical compromises. On the other hand, the fact that these colors are Pantone verified clearly reveals the effort to appeal to different user groups. When evaluated from this perspective, it can be said that Edge 70 is a remarkable model not only technically but also visually.

On the screen side, users are greeted by a 6.67-inch pOLED panel. The panel offers 120Hz refresh rate and 2712×1220 pixel resolution. In addition, the screen has Pantone verification, providing high performance in terms of color accuracy. It is possible to say that this detail is important for users who consume or produce content. The brightness, contrast level and color balance of the panel offer a satisfactory experience in daily use. When all these features come together, it seems that the Edge 70 has a strong profile compared to its segment on the screen side.

The camera system is positioned in an assertive spot, just like the screen. There are two 50-megapixel resolution sensors on the back, one with 24 mm wide angle and the other with 12 mm ultra wide angle. Both cameras are supported with phase detection autofocus (PDAF). On the front, there is a 50-megapixel camera, and this camera promises a high-level experience for both video calls and selfie shots. Thanks to this system, users can take clear photos in both low light and wide-angle environments. However, it should not be forgotten that camera performance should also be supported by the software side.

One of the weakest aspects of the Motorola Edge 70 is its battery capacity. A battery with a capacity of 4,800 mAh is used in the device. This value may seem low compared to some of its competitors; However, the usage times shared by Motorola are enough to break this prejudice. According to the brand’s claim, the device can offer 29 hours of video playback, 66 hours of music listening and up to 10 hours of social media use on a single charge. The EU energy label, which was included in previous leaks, revealed that a total battery life of up to 50 hours could be offered. At this point, processor efficiency and how successful software optimization is will play a decisive role.

Charging features are among the details that make the device stand out. Motorola Edge 70 has 68W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging support. Thanks to these values, the risk of encountering charging problems during daily use is minimized. The battery system, which can reach high charging rates in a short time, allows users to use the device actively throughout the day. When all these features are evaluated together, it can be said that although the battery capacity is limited, the charging technology balances this situation. Another striking element here is that the accessories that will be included in the box will also affect the usage experience.

The device is available in only one hardware configuration: 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage. This configuration is at a level that can satisfy the user in the long term in terms of both performance and storage. The sales price in Europe has been announced as 800 Euros. Gifts offered to users with the device include Moto Tag, Moto Buds Loop, Moto Watch Fit or 68W TurboPower charger.
