In Türkiye 5G tender The process for the remaining weekend began officially. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu, on August 16, 2025 in his share, 700 MHz and 3.5 GHz bands announced that a total of 400 MHz frequency will be allocated to operators.

There are three different packages in the 700 MHz band opened to the tender. For each of these packages, the minimum value is determined as $ 425 million. The cost of eight packages in the 3.5 GHz band varies between 50 and 200 million dollars. The minimum value of 11 packages in total reaches 2 billion 125 million dollars. These amounts, which are determined through foreign exchange, correspond to around 87 billion TL amount according to current exchange rates. Thus, the financial size of the frequencies was clearly demonstrated.
Payments in the tender will be made at three equal installments
The payment process of the winning operators will walk over three installments in line with the specifications of the BTK. In addition, contribution will be obtained on the determined ratio of gross sales. In addition, operators will have to present the letter of collateral calculated over five percent of the gross sales of 2029 to the BTK. These regulations aim to ensure that the process is financially disciplined. Despite everything, the uncertainty continues to be the calendar because the exact date has not yet been announced.
Uraloğlu’s statements point to the last stage reached in preparations for 5G. Previously, pilot applications were made in the stadiums of Istanbul Airport and four major sports clubs.
