Microsoft reminds the date when Windows 10 support will end

As we enter 2025, Microsoft once again reminded Windows 10 users that support will end on October 14, 2025. The company used full-screen notifications to encourage the transition to Windows 11 through 2024. However, this year welcomes Windows 10 users with a stronger message: 2025 will be the year of switching to Windows 11 and PC renewal.

Last year, Microsoft defined 2024 as the “Year of the Artificial Intelligence PC” and launched Copilot Plus-enabled devices in this context. These innovations were seen as an important step in the integration of artificial intelligence into personal computers. Despite this, many users still continue to use old Windows 10 systems. The company takes a clearer stance to change this situation at the CES 2025 event and urges users to renew their old devices.

The future is taking shape with Windows 11 and artificial intelligence

In his statement at CES 2025, Microsoft Consumer Marketing President Yusuf Mehdi stated that 2025 should be a year in which users will prioritize renewing their computers rather than devices such as televisions or mobile phones. Mehdi stated that Windows 11 was offered “at a time when the world needs it most” and said that this operating system will play an important role in the future of artificial intelligence.

On the other hand, Windows 11’s new features for artificial intelligence integration are expected to reach a wider user base this year. Introduced last year but postponed Recall The feature will be available as a full version in 2025. Additionally, it is planned to add artificial intelligence-supported improvements to Windows Search. All these innovations aim to make Windows 11 not only an operating system but also a platform at the center of artificial intelligence technology.

Besides, Microsoft’s presence at CES is not limited to software development only. The company’s Copilot artificial intelligence assistant will also be used on televisions of leading brands such as Samsung and LG. At the same time, Microsoft executives are expected to take the stage at Lenovo’s handheld console-focused PC event.

While it is known that the transition speed to Windows 11 is still behind Windows 10, it is estimated that Microsoft will take more aggressive steps to change this situation throughout 2025. Especially considering that Windows 11 has become the most popular operating system for PC gaming on the Steam platform, it can be said that the company wants to expand this success to the general user base.

In addition, Microsoft will roll out the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program for individual users for the first time this year. Windows 10 users will have to pay a fee of $30 to protect their operating systems until 2026. However, this may lead many users to switch to Windows 11.

In conclusion, Microsoft’s message is clear: The Windows 10 era is coming to an end and users need to take a step to adapt to new technologies. 2025 will not only be the year of Windows 11 adoption, but also a period when personal computers will step into an artificial intelligence-supported future.
