Microsoft permanences the online account requirement in Windows 11

Microsoft began to test a significant change in the installation process of Windows 11. In the company’s latest Insider Preview version, the “Bypassnro” command, which allows users to build a system without internet connection and Microsoft account, was removed. This command has long been preferred by individual users as well as by CT managers. However, this flexibility is now eliminated.

Microsoft advocates this change on the grounds of increasing user experience and security. The company wants each user to complete the system installation with an online and a Microsoft account. This obligation was previously implemented indirectly. But with the new version, indirect roads are prevented.

Microsoft wants to keep all control of the installation process

Windows Central According to the information transferred by, the “Bypassnro.cmd” file is no longer included in the system. With this file, users could proceed without internet connection during installation. It was a preferred method, especially in second -hand computer installations or corporate configuration of companies. Now this door has been closed.

Although the removal of the command is finalized, some temporary methods are still working. For example, the command of the Shift + F10 can be opened on the installation screen. From this window, the “Bypassnro” key can be added again by intervening in the registry. Then, when the system is restarted, the installation can be continued offline.

But it is unclear how much this temporary solution will work. Microsoft has no official explanation of how long it will allow such rear doors. Moreover, this method requires a complex level of technical knowledge for ordinary users. In practice, this leads to invalid for most people.

In addition, there are more technical methods. In particular, the system managers, which have to install a large number of devices, can install automatically through the “Unattended.xml” file. This method allows the configuration to be privatized from start to finish. Despite everything, this process is not as simple as individual users can access.

Microsoft’s decision is an indication that it wants to further control the operating system. The company tends to direct users within the framework of certain rules. TPM 2.0 requirement, hardware compatibility and license key limitations are parts of this approach. The fact that Windows 10 support will end is one of the factors that accelerate this transition.

In addition to all these, the company continues to close ways to transition to old systems. Windows 11 is no longer installed with old license keys. At the same time, new installations are frequently prevented for non -supported hardware. Users have a limited maneuvering area in the face of these obligations.

This new regulation, which Microsoft has brought to the installation process, makes Windows 11 a more closed and controlled platform. Some users evaluate this positively in terms of security, while others are concerned about the decrease in flexibility. In any case, online connection and Microsoft account is now inevitable in new device installations.
