Meta is transferring Threads’ daily management to Connor Hayes, Artificial Intelligence Manager

Text -based social media application developed under the roof of Meta Threads is experiencing a significant change in the management staff. The application, which was put into operation in 2023 under the leadership of Instagram President Adam Mosser, is now left to the responsibility of a different name. With Mosseri quitting the task, Threads’ daily management will be entrusted to Connor Hayes, the commodity manager responsible for productive artificial intelligence. As of September 2025, Hayes will take over the entire operational process of Threads.

Mosser, in the internal correspondence sent to the company employees, shared the reason for this decision. Emphasizing that Threads has reached a certain maturity, Mosser said that there is a need for a manager who will devote all his time to this practice. Threads will be managed by a name outside the Instagram organizational structure for the first time with the change of task. This suggests that the application is now directed to a more independent development line.

He plans a more artificial intelligence -oriented future for Meta Threads

Connor Hayes stands out as an experienced name in META for a long time in different positions. Hayes, who has been in Meta since 2011, has been involved in both Facebook and Instagram product development teams. Moreover, it is known that the first version of Threads was built in the project team. This history points out that Hayes will become a ruler of the spirit of the practice.

With its new role, Hayes will take responsibility for all teams in the fields such as product, design, engineering and user experience research. Although the management of daily operations will now be entirely in his hands, he will still be affiliated to Adam Mosser. This structure can enable both an independent leadership and a progress in compliance with the general vision. Meta thus aims to bring the application together with a more professional management without trying to change the direction of Threads.

This change of management coincides with a remarkable period in terms of Threads’s timing. According to the data released by Similarweb recently, Threads has increased remarkable in the number of mobile users. The application reaches an average of 115 million mobile users per day, while its opponent X (formerly twitter) is 132 million. The closure of the difference in mobile can make Threads become a more competitive platform in the short term.

Threads still has a relatively small user base compared to other major applications of Meta. This, however, offers a suitable basis for the trial of some technologies in Threads first. In particular, the starting of the content created by artificial intelligence is started to be tested in user streams. It is not surprising that Meta measured more risky or experimental features through Threads.

Connor Hayes’s experience in the productive artificial intelligence can directly affect the future aspect of Threads. In practice, artificial intelligence -supported innovations are expected to increase in fields such as content suggestions, interaction algorithms and user experience. This approach can enable Threads to evolve into a more interactive and dynamic platform, not only a text sharing of text sharing. With artificial intelligence -based features to be offered to users, content production and sharing can gain a more creative dimension.

On the other hand, important improvements in the technical infrastructure of Threads during the new leadership may come to the agenda. It is thought that issues such as speed, scalability and personalization will be further prioritized. The fact that Hayes has experience in these fields in past projects may enable Threads to perform more determined. This may directly affect the long -term user loyalty of the application.
