Meta begins offering invitations for virtual meetups in Hyperspace Capture spaces

Meta has launched a new feature within the Horizon platform that allows users to invite their friends to the virtual spaces they create. Up to eight people can now participate simultaneously in these digital spaces prepared with Hyperspace Capture technology. However, in order to use this feature, you must have an invitation link and be over 18 years old. Participation is possible with the Meta Quest 3 or Quest 3S titles, as well as through the Meta Horizon mobile application available on iOS and Android operating systems.

Hyperspace Capture technology was introduced in detail at the Connect conference organized by Meta earlier this year. This system allows users to scan real life spaces with the Meta Quest device and create a digital copy. In this way, people who cannot be physically in the same place can come together and socialize in the digital environment. Thanks to the new invitation feature offered by Meta, users can share a common experience by inviting their friends to these virtual spaces they have created.

Meta plans to increase participation limit

The system is not limited to personal areas only. Users can also visit the virtual places of famous names. For example, it becomes possible to take a look at special places such as famous chef Gordon Ramsay’s kitchen or Chance the Rapper’s living room. Such spaces highlight not only individual socialization but also digital discovery and entertainment.

In addition, it was stated that Meta plans to increase the participation limit of eight people in the future in order not to restrict the user experience. However, the invitation feature is not available to all users at the same time. Meta is gradually integrating this new function into accounts. Therefore, while some users may see the feature immediately, for others there may be a waiting period that may take several days or weeks.

Although Meta’s virtual reality platforms are still in development, the company’s efforts to make its metaverse approach more accessible and user-friendly with such socially focused innovations are noteworthy. Such interactive environments, transferred from the real world to the virtual space with Hyperspace Capture, make remote connection more intimate. Especially in cases of physical distance, these virtual meetings have the potential to make digital communication deeper and more natural.
