It will now be possible to find online game services in the Apple App Store

Apple App Store is now open to online game services and applications. This means that it will be possible to find applications for game services such as Xbox Cloud Streaming and GeForce Now in the store. These services were previously only accessible via the internet browser on iOS.

In the statement made by Apple on the subject, it is stated that “Developers can now submit a single application that has the opportunity to publish all the games offered in their catalog.” It is worth noting that these changes are not limited to Europe only and are valid for the whole world.

Apple made room for cloud gaming services in the app store in 2020. However, when it was realized that each game offered on these services should be considered as an independent application, it became clear that things were not as shown. Therefore, allowing a single application with a wide game catalog is a big change.

In a statement from Apple, “Every experience offered in an app on the App Store will be required to comply with the store’s rules. “In addition, the app must maintain the age rating of the highest rated content.”

Apple also added that developers can now “offer enhanced discovery opportunities for streaming games, mini-apps, mini-games, chatbots, and add-ons within their apps” and that “mini-apps, mini-games, chatbots, and add-ons will be available to their users for the first time for a fee, like an individual chatbot subscription.” announced that they could incorporate Apple’s In-App Purchase system to deliver digital content or services.

App Store was opened to the outside world following the European Union’s monopoly investigation. The Cupertino-based company now also allows alternative app stores and browser choices within EU borders.
