iPhone 17 Air will offer high performance in its thin case

Apple’s next -generation smartphone series iPhone 17 leaks in succession, while the most talked about model of the iPhone 17 Air sat on the agenda again. In a previously shared video image, the design of 5.65 mm thick design had a wide repercussion in technology circles with evaluations made on the mold of the device. Now, three new visuals showing four different iPhone 17 models are clearly separating the Air model from others. The design of the device, which attracts attention with its subtlety, comes with some hardware preferences.

The fact that the model is so thin causes limitations for physical components. Even a very narrow area is left for placement of keys on the edges. The USB-C port, which will be located at the bottom, is also affected by these limits of design. Looking at all these details, Apple has made some sacrifices to provide this subtlety.

The iPhone 17 Air model stands out in terms of performance by equipping with 12 GB of RAM

This ultra thin structure brings the possibility of smaller battery capacity. For users with long battery life expectations, this may be disappointed. In addition, the iPhone 17 Air will be offered with only a single rear camera. Apple’s choice is also associated with an effort to make the device more accessible than other pro models.

On the other hand, the iPhone 17 Air will not be in the background by the processing power side. According to the latest assessments of the reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, this model will include 12GB of RAM. The same amount of RAM will be used in the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models. Thus, the Air model will not compromise on performance despite its subtlety.

This development has already changed the expectations that only the Pro Max model will be given 12 GB of RAM. Apple’s latest decisions show that it tends to offer high RAM capacity in more models. This seems to affect not only the Air model, but also other members of the series. Because Apple wants to bring the same RAM level to the Standard iPhone 17 model.

But some uncertainties continue on the supply chain side. Although the standard iPhone 17 is planned to have 12 GB of RAM, Apple has not yet clarified this decision. The company is expected to make the final assessment next month. If the plans do not change, the standard model is likely to be released with 8GB of RAM.

In addition, Apple’s approach to increasing RAM capacity will not be limited to the iPhone 17 series. It is claimed that the company aims to use 12 GB of RAM in all models in the iPhone 18 family, which will be presented in 2026. This preference can be read not only for performance improvement, but also as a response to competition conditions. The increasing RAM capacities on Android leads Apple to make new decisions in this field.

RAM capacity for iPhone users is becoming an even more important criterion every year. The increasing resource requirement of applications and the load of operating system updates brings higher memory needs. At this point, Apple had previously been cautious. However, the latest leaks indicate that the company has reviewed this approach.
