Instagram users can now add notes to Reels videos and other posts

Instagram announced the Notes feature in late 2022 and opened it to all users in early 2023. Now, the company is expanding the scope of the feature and taking notes to other areas.

Users will be able to add notes to Reels videos and posts seen in the feed. These notes will appear in bubbles over the content. Like Notes, these comments will be temporary. Notes will disappear within three days unless deleted.

It’s also worth noting that the new temporary comments are semi-private. Users will be able to choose who can see their comments. Their close friends list or selected followers will be able to see them. Looking at the screenshots, it also appears that users will be able to tag each other in Reels and notes added to posts.

Instagram expands Notes feature to offer another way to share content

Users will see notes on Reels and posts with notes added as stickers on top of the content. This gives Instagram friends a new way to show content outside of DMs. This feature is more inclusive than DMs and promises a more personalized experience than standard comments.

Content creators will be able to block notes from being left on their Reels videos and other posts if they wish. The feature is expected to reach all users soon after it has started rolling out.
