Humane aims to increase the sales of this artificial intelligence-supported device by reducing the price of its AI Pin device, which has poor sales performance, by $200. AI Pin, which was launched this year for $699, can now be purchased for $499.
This $499 version is a matte black anodized aluminum model called “eclipse.” However, this model does not have an additional battery or charging box. The fact that the company warns that some battery cells may pose a fire risk and that the charging box should not be used makes this situation somewhat logical.
Users who want an additional battery can purchase it separately for $69. Although the price of the device has dropped, the AI Pin still requires a $24 monthly wireless subscription.
Humane AI Pin received very negative reviews
AI Pin has received fairly negative reviews since its launch this year. Humane has recently released updates to the CosmOS software, adding missing features such as a timer. However, the device failed to attract sufficient interest among users. In fact, it was reported that on some days this summer, the number of returned devices exceeded sales figures.
Humane’s store also lists white and black AI Pin models with a polished aluminum design. These models are called “lunar” and “equinox” and are sold as “full systems”. These packages come with an additional battery and charging case and are available for $799. However, both models are currently sold out.
