Huawei announced a new version of the Mate 70 Pro, which it launched in November 2024. This model, which is launched under the name of Huawei Mate 70 Pro Premium Edition, comes with some hardware changes. Although the phrase Premium usually evokes improved features, a decrease in processor performance in this device draws attention. The new model will be available on March 5 and will have a lower price tag compared to the original version.
The biggest change in this new version was to reduce the clock speed of the processor. Although Huawei does not mention this difference in its descriptions in the official product list, Geekbench test results show that the device has a different performance level. The Huawei Mate 70 Pro Premium Edition was tested in Geekbench with the PLR-ALAR50 number and scored 1,450 points in single-core performance and 3.793 points for multiple core performance. These scores are similar to mid -segment phones and show that it offers a lower processing force compared to the original Mate 70 Pro.
Although there is a change in processor performance, the other hardware features of the device are maintained. The Huawei Mate 70 Pro Premium Edition comes with an OLED screen with a 6.9 -inch, 120 Hz renewal rate. This screen attracts attention with its high level of brightness and vivid colors.
On the camera side, the original model is maintained. The 50 MP main camera, a 40 MP ultra wide-angle lens and 48 MP Macro-Telefoto camera continues to be on the Mate 70 Pro Premium Edition. It is estimated that the device will continue to offer high performance in terms of video and photo shooting capabilities.
The battery capacity is also preserved as 5,500 mAh. The device offers a 100W wired and 80W wireless fast charging support and promises long battery life and fast charging experience to its users.
Huawei’s new model will be available with four different color options, green, purple, white and black. The device, which comes with 12 GB of RAM, will be released with three different storage options. Here are the pricing details:
- 256 GB Storage: 6,199 Yuan (31092 TL)
- 512 GB Storage: 6,699 Yuan (33600 TL)
- 1 TB Storage: 7,699 Yuan (38615 TL)
Huawei Mate 70 Pro Premium Edition may not be released outside China
Huawei is expected to offer this model only in the Chinese market. The company has not made any explanation for bringing Mate 70 Pro Premium Edition to international markets. Therefore, it remains unclear whether the device will be sold outside China.
