Honor X6b Plus offers high battery capacity and camera at an affordable price

Honor has introduced a new affordable model to the Philippine market. Although this phone, named Honor X6b Plus, is in the entry segment, it reaches a certain level with its technical details. While the device follows a simple line with its design, it can also meet expectations with its hardware. Although it is not clear whether it will be offered to the global market, this model aims to stand out especially with its price-performance balance.

One of the most striking aspects of the X6b Plus is that it presents its hardware in a simple but functional structure. The phone’s 192 gram weight and 8.39 mm thickness provide a structure that can be easily carried in the hand. Inside is the MediaTek Helio G85 processor; While this processor is sufficient for daily tasks, it may be limited for applications requiring high performance. Still, the fact that it seamlessly fulfills the basic functions expected from a device in this segment shows that the device directly appeals to its target audience. Besides all this, the fact that there is only 4G support is still considered an accepted detail in this price range.

Honor X6b Plus puts functionality first

On the screen side, we see a 6.56 inch TFT LCD panel. Offering a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels, this screen provides a smoother viewing experience with a 90 Hz refresh rate. While the 780 nits peak brightness provides an extra advantage in use under sunlight, there are no problems with color transitions with 16.7 million color support. While the water drop notch design keeps the upper part of the screen in a simple structure, basic information can be accessed without touching the screen thanks to the always-on display feature. Although such details are rare in entry-level devices, they show the user-centered approach of the X6b Plus.

When it comes to the camera side, a triple structure can be seen at the back; Here, the main sensor with 50 MP resolution carries the main load. This sensor is accompanied by a 2 MP depth camera and an auxiliary lens. The camera software supports modes such as HDR, portrait, panorama and time-lapse video. 10x digital zoom and 30 frames per second video recording features at 1080p resolution are also available. Thus, a sufficient camera experience is provided for users who want to produce social media content.

The front camera has 5 MP resolution and comes with f / 2.2 aperture. It can be said that it offers an average performance, especially for video calls and selfie shots. Beauty, bokeh and smile detection modes offered software also diversify usage scenarios. However, performance appears to be limited in low light conditions. However, this is not surprising for devices in this segment.

X6b Plus comes with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage. The device, which works with the Android 14-based MagicOS 8.0 interface, prioritizes up-to-date software support. While the interface attracts attention with its simple structure, it facilitates daily operations thanks to its user-friendly design. This shows that the device meets expectations not only with its hardware but also with its software experience. In daily use, this simple structure makes the device suitable for long-term use.

Another area where the device is strong is its battery capacity. The 5100 mAh battery offers durability against intense usage scenarios during the day. Thanks to 35W SuperCharge fast charging support, sufficient charging can be provided in a short time. Thus, users can continue to use their phones without having to deal with charging problems, especially on busy days. Long battery life may be one of the reasons for choosing this model.

Honor X6b Plus also meets certain standards in terms of durability. Thanks to SGS certified impact protection, the device has become more resistant to possible falls. In addition to this protection, components such as fingerprint reader, gyroscope, compass, ambient light and proximity sensors are also integrated into the device. Especially these sensors are among the functions that provide comfort in daily use. All this hardware is supported by the protective case and screen film in the box.

On the connection side, dual SIM card support is offered and 4G LTE connection meets basic needs. Additionally, it also has Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS and USB Type-C port. Some details that users still care about, such as the 3.5 mm headphone jack and OTG support, have also been preserved.

Honor X6b Plus hit the shelves in the Philippines with a price tag of 6,999 pesos (4965 TL). During the campaign period, this price drops to 5,999 pesos (4255 TL) and the user is also given Earbuds II wireless headphones as a gift.
