Honor took its first steps in the field of humanoid robot

Honor has announced the first time publicly announced its humanoid robot development plans. This announcement was made during the Chinese launch of the Honor 400 series. The company now wants to be referred to as an artificial intelligence -oriented technology company, not only as a telephone manufacturer.

According to Honor’s statements, this initiative is part of a comprehensive transformation process. The company adopts the identity of “AI device ecosystem company” and turns to different fields. As part of this orientation, he started to invest in humanoid robot technologies. However, at this stage, the company does not have a physical robot produced by its own.

Honor worked on a robot that broke a speed record with Unitree infrastructure

Honor said that he contributed to a robotic project that attracts attention as one of the first concrete steps taken in this field. The hardware used in this project was developed by Unitree Robotics. China -based Unitree is known for its agile and cost -effective humanoid robots. Honor contributed to the software side of this robot by integrating his own artificial intelligence algorithms.

The robot showed remarkable performance by running at 4 meters per hour. This speed is considered one of the highest levels reached by a humanoid robot to date. Although the hardware does not belong to Honor, the integration at the software level means an important experience for the company. This shows that Honor aims to improve his own technologies that are not only based on partnerships.

In addition, Honor announced that new units to manage their activities in this field have been established. The “Industry Incubation Department ılan established within the company will work on different artificial intelligence form factors. This department focuses on areas such as artificial intelligence and autonomous AI agents that have found body. In other words, Honor is preparing to support artificial intelligence not only software but also with physical products.

The company also states that the process of developing its own robotic equipment is continuing. Although a physical product has not been introduced at the moment, it is stated that the works are completely carried out within the company. Honor, on the other hand, states that he is in cooperation with other technology companies in this process. It is stated that these collaborations are part of a wider concept, which they call the ek ecosystem of bodily intelligence ”.

Honor’s robot development statement was a remarkable detail, although it was in the shadow of the launch of the Honor 400 series. Meanwhile, the new 400 series phones made a successful start, especially in the UK market. Thanks to the new generation of artificial intelligence features, the company announced that its sales increased by 183 %compared to the previous model. Artificial intelligence -supported functions such as converting from visual to video are expressed in interest among users.

In addition, it is clear that Honor’s investments in artificial intelligence will not be limited to phones. The company’s work on physical robotic systems is an indication that it turns to technologies other than consumer electronics. In addition to hardware production, a strategy deepened in software and artificial intelligence algorithms is being carried out. This indicates that the company may be visible in different areas in the future.
