Honor launched the new member of the affordable Play series, Honor Play 11, in China. The phone, added to models such as Play 11C, Play 11T, Play 11 Plus and Play 11 Pro, stands out especially with its long battery life and durability features. The device has a battery with a capacity of 8300 mAh and 45W wired charging support is offered. The 6.872-inch LCD screen of the phone, which carries the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor, also supports a 120 Hz refresh rate. IP68, IP69 and IP69K certifications make Play 11’s protection against water and dust one of the main features in the series.
A TFT LCD panel with a resolution of 1592 x 720 pixels was preferred on the screen of Honor Play 11. The 120 Hz refresh rate provides smoother images, especially when navigating the interface and in supported applications. The panel can reach up to 1020 nits of brightness in HBM mode. In addition, DC dimming, eye comfort mode and a display mode that aims to imitate natural light are among the screen features of the phone. Despite this, the resolution at HD + level shows that Play 11 is a model that prioritizes battery life and durability, considering its large screen size.
Honor Play 11 features stand out with 8300 mAh battery
At the heart of the phone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor. The processor is accompanied by up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage, depending on the configuration. Honor offers the Play 11 with MagicOS 16 based on Android 10.0. There is also a special button on the side of the device that provides access to artificial intelligence functions. This button can detect and close pop-up windows with a single touch; In addition, Honor Any Door provides quick access to functions such as remote assistance and artificial intelligence-supported face change detection.
On the camera side, there is a 50-megapixel main camera with f / 1.8 aperture on the back of Honor Play 11. On the front, there is a 5 megapixel camera with f / 2.2 aperture for video calls and selfie shots. The camera hardware is kept quite simple in line with the price segment of the phone. The lack of a second functional rear camera, especially ultra-wide-angle or telephoto, limits flexibility on the photography side. On the other hand, the 50 megapixel main sensor aims to meet Play 11’s daily photography needs with a single camera.

One of the striking aspects of Play 11 is its 8300 mAh capacity battery. The nominal capacity of the battery is stated as 7900 mAh. While the phone supports 45W wired charging, it can transfer energy to other devices thanks to the reverse charging feature over the cable. Honor states that, based on measurements under its own laboratory conditions, the battery is designed to maintain its health over six years of use; Actual usage results may vary depending on variables such as charging habits, temperature and usage intensity. Thanks to the large capacity battery, the phone weighs 216.5 grams and measures 168.3 x 78.54 x 8.30 mm.
Combining IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for durability distinguishes the Play 11 from many phones at a similar price level. Beyond standard water resistance, the IP69K rating also includes protection against high-pressure and high-temperature water sprays. In addition, the phone has SGS Gold Label five-star certification for drop and pressure resistance. Honor states that the device can protect against drops from a height of up to 2.5 meters. These durability features make the phone a more suitable option for people who work outdoors or use their device in more challenging conditions.
Connectivity options include 5G, dual nano SIM, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and USB Type-C connection. The fingerprint reader is placed on the side of the phone. In addition, stereo speakers are offered and the high sound mode can increase the sound output by up to 400 percent, according to the information provided by Honor. Wi-Fi 5 and especially Bluetooth 4.2 support stand out as older connection standards for a current phone. Therefore, although Play 11 offers strong features in terms of battery and physical durability, it comes with more modest hardware in wireless connection technologies.

The starting price of Honor Play 11 in China was announced as 1399 yuan for the version with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The model with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage carries a price tag of 1599 yuan, and the version with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage carries a price tag of 1899 yuan. Telephone Desert Gold, Mist Purple, Meteor Silver and Ghost Black It is sold in four color options. Honor has not yet announced whether the Play 11 will be available in markets outside China. While the large battery, high-level water and dust protection and 120 Hz screen are the strengths of the device, low screen resolution and old wireless connection standards are among the main hardware preferences that correspond to a more affordable price level.
