HMD’s Barbie phone officially revealed

HMD has officially unveiled its Barbie-themed phone after a long period of sharing and leaks. The phone, which has been made official with the name Barbie Phone, can be described as a different version of the Nokia 2660 Flip. The phone comes with both some software touches and a major visual makeover.

The pink theme stands out as the most prominent feature of this collaboration. The phone, which comes with a removable battery with a capacity of 1450 mAh, also includes a pink USB-C cable in the box. A pink cleaning wipe also comes with the phone.

The accessories on offer don’t stop there either, including two interchangeable back covers, a beaded phone strap, attachable phone charms and Barbie stickers.

Barbie Phone has a 2.8-inch main screen and a 1.77-inch cover screen. The phone, which has 64 MB of RAM and 128 MB of storage, is powered by the Unisoc T107 processor. Storage can be expanded up to 32 GB via a microSD card slot. A single VGA (0.3 MP) camera, Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, a headphone jack, and a USB-C port for charging and data transfer also await users on the phone.

On the software front, users will be greeted by the S30+ operating system in most markets. However, in the US, the phone will run KaiOS. HMD has expanded the customization to the phone’s user interface with custom Barbie icons, wallpapers, and ringtones. Barbie Phone also offers a digital wellness tip, a Barbie Meditation app, and self-care reminders.

How much should I pay for the HMD Barbie Phone?

The HMD Barbie Phone will retail for 129 euros in Europe and $129 in the U.S. The phone is already available in many countries and will hit shelves in the U.S. in October.
