HMD continues to release its own-brand Android phones. The company, which previously introduced the Pulse trio, the Aura model, and the Skyline, has added two more devices to its lineup. HMD announced its smartphones, called Crest and Crest Max, in India made.
Crest is a 5G phone positioned in the entry-level segment. At the heart of the smartphone is the Unisoc T760 processor. Produced with a 6 nm design, this processor has four Cortex-A76 and four Cortex-A55 cores. The Mali-G57 GPU and 5G modem complete the system.
The HMD Crest has a Unisoc T760 processor with 6 GB of RAM. Storage is 128 GB. The storage is completed by a microSD card. The Crest Max welcomes users with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
Both smartphones have a 6.67-inch Full HD+ resolution OLED display. The screen is protected by reinforced glass. There is also glass protection on the back panel. The phone has an IP52 splash resistance certification.
The 50-megapixel main camera on the HMD Crest is complemented by a depth sensor. There is also a 50-megapixel camera on the front. The hands-free selfie feature also awaits users on the HMD smartphone. Users can take selfies with different hand gestures.
The Crest Max has a 64-megapixel sensor as the main camera. There is a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. There is also a 50-megapixel sensor on the front.
Both smartphones are powered by a 5000 mAh battery. This battery supports 33W charging and the phone also comes with a 33W charging adapter. It is also worth noting that the Crest and Crest Max have a 3.5mm headphone jack.
HMD Crest and Crest Max will come out of the box with Android 14. The company, which only promised two years of security patches, did not provide any additional information about operating system updates.
Both smartphones are built with what HMD calls “Gen 1 repairability,” meaning the display, battery, charging port, and back panel can all be easily replaced at home.
How much should I pay for HMD Crest and Crest Max?
The HMD Crest and Crest Max will be available in India in August. The Crest will cost 14,500 rupees ($5,732) and the Crest Max will cost 16,500 rupees ($6,523).
