Google Pixel 9 is official with more powerful processor and better camera

Google has unveiled the standard Pixel 9 model along with the Pixel 9 Pro, Pro XL and Pro Fold models. Although the Pixel 9 may seem to carry a lower rank compared to its predecessor, it continues to promise a strong experience in a familiar design.

A 6.3-inch 120 Hz OLED display awaits users on the Pixel 9. Google switched from an optical fingerprint sensor to an ultrasonic sensor and increased the maximum brightness value of the screen from 2000 nits to 2700 nits.

While the slight increase in screen size makes the Pixel 9 larger than its predecessor from last year, the smartphone still lags behind other Android counterparts. It’s also worth noting that the Pixel 9 shares the same dimensions as the Pro version.

Unlike the Pro models, the Pixel 9 has two rear cameras. The standard main camera is accompanied by an ultra-wide-angle camera. While these cameras have the same sensors and hardware as the Pro version, the only sacrifice is made on the telephoto camera side. The 50-megapixel main camera is accompanied by a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. On the front, a 10.5-megapixel camera awaits users.

At the heart of the phone is the Tensor G4 processor. This processor is accompanied by 12 GB of RAM. Storage options are listed as 128 and 256 GB. The presence of the Tensor G4 processor and 12 GB of RAM is of great importance for the functioning of the artificial intelligence capabilities offered by Google under the name Gemini Nano.

The smartphone will come out of the box with Android 14, but will soon be updated to Android 15. Google also guarantees updates for this model for 7 years. The Pixel 9 is provided with the energy it needs by a 4700 mAh battery with 45W charging support. Google did not forget to share the information that a 30-minute charging process will charge the phone’s battery by 55 percent.

How much should I pay for the Google Pixel 9?

Google is offering four color options for the Pixel 9: Porcelain, Peony, Winter Green, and Obsidian. The phone, which will be sold starting at $799 in the US, will be available to users on August 22.
