Google provides significant convenience for Google Photos users in the web version. Now, thanks to the automatic folder backup feature, users will be able to upload photos and videos from selected folders from their computers without manual operation. Previously, files had to be uploaded one by one each time, but with this new feature, backup processes are automated. All users have to do is photos.google.com Go to and select “Back up folders” and allow.
The new feature allows users to regularly back up Google Photos by selecting specific folders on their computers. This process works similar to the backup system in the Google Drive desktop application, but it works through the web browser. Users will also be able to see the number of files and backup size in the folder they choose. Additionally, removing a folder or adding a new folder can be easily done from the three-dot menu.
However, this feature does not offer a system that constantly runs in the background. Users need to update the backup by visiting the Google Photos web version periodically. Although this offers more limited functionality compared to the desktop application, it provides great convenience compared to manual installation processes.
This new function offers a great advantage, especially for users who want to regularly backup photos and videos on their computers. However, not being able to backup continuously in the background may be a disadvantage for some users. Still, Google aims to offer a more practical experience through the web version. This innovation is an important step for browser-based backups, especially outside of desktop applications.
This feature is currently available to users and is expected to be expanded with more updates soon.
