Google One has increased sharply in subscription prices

Google significantly increased the popular cloud storage service Google One’s subscription prices in Turkey. In many countries such as Australia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Egypt, Ghana, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Paraguay, Peru, Peru, Peru, Sri Lanka and Tanzania updated prices upward. Google One offers its users the opportunity to safely store photos, videos, documents and other important files, while at the same time providing advantages such as advanced editing tools, additional cloud storage and technical support within the Google Photos App. However, these price changes can bring additional financial load for individual users and small businesses. New subscription fees will be commissioned for existing users as of March 21, 2025.

According to Google One’s new pricing policy, the annual fee of the standard package, which offers 200 GB storage space, was determined as 799,99 TL. The monthly price of this plan was increased to 79.99 TL. The monthly fee of the 2 TB Premium package offered for users in need of larger storage space was updated to 204.99 TL. In addition, the monthly fee for AI Premium package of 2 TB, which includes artificial intelligence -supported services, remained constant as 719.99 TL. The monthly fees of 5 TB, 10 TB, 20 TB and 30 TB premium packages increased to 359 TL, 729,99 TL, TL 1,479 and 2.199,99 TL respectively. New prices will automatically apply for existing subscribers during the next renovation period.

Google One subscription fees have increased in different countries

Google cited the fluctuations in exchange rates and changes in service costs regarding the price increase. The company said that with these hikes on a global scale, it aims to maintain the sustainability of its storage solutions. In recent years, the fluctuations and inflation rates in the exchange rate in Turkey have led to a constant update of technology companies. Similarly, the economic changes in other countries brought upward revisions in the pricing of digital services such as Google One.

Considering the advantages of Google One, the price increase can be considered to be acceptable for some users. The platform offers an integrated cloud storage solution, especially for those who use the Google ecosystem intensively. Having a strong integration with Android and Google services allows users to easily access all files from different devices. However, the increase in prices at such a short period of time may make it difficult for budget planning for individuals and enterprises that have long been using Google One service for a long time.

Google One, which is previously an affordable alternative for users who need low storage space, may experience difficulty in terms of competition with new pricing. The cloud storage market contains various alternatives such as Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, Apple iCloud and local service providers. Users may begin to evaluate these alternatives to determine the best option in terms of price-performance. For example, Apple İcloud provides a direct compatible structure for iPhone and Mac users, while Microsoft OneDrive provides additional advantages to Office 365 users.

In terms of existing subscribers, discussions on how sustainability of new pricing may continue. Google One subscribers may have to make a decision in line with their needs by reviewing their existing storage plans. For those who want to manage the storage area effectively, it can be among the options to clean unnecessary files or to switch to a different subscription plan. Especially for professionals and content producers working with large files, cloud storage services continue to be an inevitable requirement, while prices for individual users may become more questionable.

It is uncertain for the time being that Google One prices will be updated again in the future. However, considering the cost increases in the technology sector and global economic developments, it will not be surprising that similar price adjustments continue. Users need to focus not only at prices but also the advantages and ease of use of the service when determining cloud storage preferences. The fact that artificial intelligence -supported features have gained more importance in the recent period can shape future services by platforms such as Google One.

The updated prices of Google One mean an important additional cost, especially for users who store large files and need high capacity. Although it will take time to get used to new pricing, the fact that cloud storage services are no longer an inevitable necessity will not change. It is critical for users to examine existing and alternative services in detail in order to select the most suitable plan for their needs.
