Google is going to change the representation of mobile search results

Google has decided to change the way URLs display in mobile search results. Since 2009, the search results have been used in the “Breadcrumb” structure that shows the URL hierarchy of web pages with the “>” sign. However, as of today, this structure will be removed on mobile devices and only domain name will be shown. This change will directly affect smartphone and tablet users.

As a reason for this change, the company showed that the Breadcrumb structure cannot be displayed efficiently on smaller screens of mobile devices. “Breadcrumbal item is not so useful for users who search on mobile devices, because it is cut on smaller screens.” He made a statement. Especially on small -screen devices, only the first part of the URL can be seen, which can adversely affect the user experience.

On the other hand, this change includes larger screen mobile devices. Although tablets or smartphones with large -screen, Breadcrumbal, Google, although it can easily show the structure, prefer to show the domain name on these devices. This can make it difficult for users to understand the location of the page they visit on the site.

Web developers followed Google’s structured data rules and had some control on how the URLs would look in the search results. Thanks to these rules, the appearance of URLs in Snippets could be regulated. However, with this change on mobile devices, developers will only focus on desktop results, as Breadcrumbs are completely removed.

Google’s move can be considered as a step taken to simplify the mobile user experience. However, the completely removal of the BreadCrumb structure on large -screen mobile devices can make it difficult to understand the context of the web page for some users. For desktop users, this feature will still remain active, big screen users will not be affected.

This change aims to achieve a more simple and understandable structure of mobile search results. However, there are different opinions about how users will affect their in -site navigation experiences. Some experts say that the removal of the Breadcrumb structure can make it difficult for users to understand their positions in the site, while others argue that a cleaner interface can improve the user experience.

This change in Google’s mobile search results is intended to simplify the user experience. However, time will show the effects of users on internal site navigation habits. It is important that web developers and site owners optimize mobile user experience, taking into account this change.
