Following Samsung’s Unpacked event, Google has revealed four new features it has been working on with Samsung, all of which will be available on the South Korean company’s devices.
Google Gemini will offer relevant suggestions based on what’s on your screen on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. When you watch a video on the Z Fold 6, you’ll be able to open the Gemini layer and move it around the screen for a true multitasking experience. Additionally, if you’re watching something on YouTube, Gemini will suggest “ask me about this video.” Those features will be available “in the coming months.”
The Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra are the first smartwatches to come with Wear OS 5. The Google Pixel Watch 3, which will be introduced next month, will also come with Wear OS 5. The new version of Google’s wearable software promises improved performance and battery life. The Galaxy Watch Ultra’s large battery capacity is also expected to help with this.
On the Galaxy Z Fold 6, YouTube TV subscribers will be able to watch channels in multi-view mode, where up to four different streams are displayed on the screen at any given time. There will also be pre-selected combinations of football, news, weather and simultaneous sports events.
Google and Samsung are also working together on the XR platform
Google also announced that it is working with the South Korean company on Samsung’s upcoming XR platform, which will compete with Apple’s visionOS.
