This means that the event will start at 01.00 on August 13, Türkiye time. While new Pixel phones are expected to stand out at the event, details about which products the company will announce are not official yet.
It is stated that this year’s Pixel event may be held in a calmer atmosphere compared to some previous promotions. The main reasons for this are the problems in memory supply and the price pressure that increases the costs of consumer electronics products. These conditions in the industry cause manufacturers to determine both their hardware preferences and starting prices more carefully. It is estimated that Google will follow a similar pattern with its new Pixel phones. Despite this, it should not be forgotten that all the information circulating before the event is a leak.
256 GB initial storage is on the agenda for new Google Pixel phones
According to recent news, Google may completely remove the 128GB storage option on new Pixel phones. If this claim is true, the basic models in the series will start with 256 GB storage capacity. From the user side, higher initial storage seems like a positive change. 256 GB may provide more comfortable space, especially for users who take high-resolution photos and videos and store more applications and media files on the device. However, this change may also increase the starting price of the phones.
The possible increase in price is not limited to storage capacity alone. The supply shortage in memory components directly affects the cost calculations of smartphone manufacturers. For this reason, although Google’s standardization of higher storage capacity may offer a technical advantage for users, it may not result in an equally positive picture in pricing. In one of the previous leaks, it was also suggested that the amount of RAM could be reduced in some configurations. However, since this claim has not been strongly supported in recent weeks, it remains a weaker rumor for now.
On the processor side, the new Pixel phones are expected to come with an updated Tensor chip. Google’s Tensor processors are positioned around camera processing, artificial intelligence features and smart functions running on the device rather than a pure performance race. A similar approach can be expected to continue in the new generation. Despite this, current leaks indicate that innovations on the processor side may be limited. This suggests that the new Pixel series will be evaluated mostly on storage, pricing and software-supported features.
