Google adds temporary chat and memory to Gemini

It brings new features that will offer two different usage scenarios for Google Gemini. The first of these is the temporary chat mode that looks like a hidden mode in browsers. When this mode is activated, the conversations will not be added to the chat history, will not shape future responses and will not be used in the training of the model. Thus, users will be able to make one -time and completely isolated dialogues.

Google, temporary chats will be hidden up to 72 hours, he says. This allows the user to review the conversation or give feedback on content. The company gradually offers this feature to use and plans to open all users to access in a few weeks. It is stated that the feature will be commissioned in certain markets in the first stage.

Google Gemini gains the ability to remember personal data

In addition, Gemini is also added to a function of a full contrast to temporary chat mode. Thanks to the new memory setting, the application will be able to use the information that users have learned from their previous speeches in future conversations. For example, if the user has previously shared a hobby or interest, the application will be able to make suggestions by remembering this. This will enable conversations to more personalized and user -oriented progress.

Google added the ability to display conversations to Gemini Advanced version at the beginning of the year. The new memory feature stands out as a more comprehensive version of this approach. Chatgpt and Claude, competing platforms, have similar memory functions. This shows that competition in the sector focuses on data -oriented personalization.

The new memory setting comes open by default. Therefore, when the feature comes into play, those who do not want to use the Settings menu will have to follow the closure steps. In the application, this option is in the “Settings> Personal Context> Your past chats with Gemini”. It is important that users carefully perform data control at this point.

On the other hand, Google also makes changes in the naming of data storage settings. Previously called the “Gemini Application Event”, the option is now called “Hide the Event .. Despite the name change, the existing settings will be protected in the same way, so there will be no restructuring.

The personalized chat ability will first be commissioned in certain countries in Gemini 2.5 Pro version. It is then planned to spread to the 2.5 flash version and more areas. Thus, two different options will be offered for user profiles that require privacy and demand more personal experiences.

In addition, the temporary chat mode gives the user a feeling of confidence, while memory feature can help to establish deeper ties in continuous interactions. Users will have the opportunity to use these two modes according to their preferences. This creates an important advantage for those looking for flexibility on artificial intelligence chat platforms.

In spite of everything, these features seem to bring about data safety and privacy discussions. In particular, the memory mode open by default will require users to make conscious setting management. Google’s clear and understandable information at this point will be critical for user confidence.
