During the test, a handful of sand was poured on the inner screen of the phone and the screen was opened and closed. Although the sand grains entered the hinge gaps, the device continued to work. Although the IP48 certificate does not provide complete sealing against dust, the hinge structure has been significantly strengthened. The rear panel of the device was slightly separated from the outer frame in the test, but the glass was not broken and there was no loss of function on the screens. Even when the phone was bent in the opposite direction, it maintained its structural integrity.
