The first design details about the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra continue to emerge. A previously shared CAD-based image pointed out that Samsung could change the rear camera layout in the upcoming Ultra model. Now, new information has come from the same source about the dimensions of the device and the location of some components in the case. According to what is reported by Ice Universe, the Galaxy S27 Ultra will be very close to the Galaxy S26 Ultra in terms of general design lines. The most obvious visual difference between the two phones is expected to be the rearranged rear camera section.
According to the leak, Samsung will not make any major changes to the physical dimensions of the Galaxy S27 Ultra. While it is stated that the dimensions of the new flagship will be almost the same as the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the slot reserved for the S Pen will continue to remain on the left side at the bottom of the phone. In addition, it is claimed that the speaker grill will be positioned on the left side of the bottom edge. Thus, it appears that Samsung chose to preserve the basic layout elements that may affect usage habits in the Ultra model. In particular, the fact that the S Pen continues to be integrated into the body of the device shows that one of the features that distinguish the Galaxy S Ultra series from other upper segment Samsung phones will be preserved.
Changes are expected in the Galaxy S27 Ultra camera design
In other members of the Galaxy S27 family, the placement of the components on the bottom edge may be different. According to Ice Universe, the speaker grill on the Galaxy S27 Pro, Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ models will be located on the right side. Such a choice can distinguish the Ultra model from other models not only with its camera and S Pen features, but also with small design details on the case. However, it should be noted that the information shared at this stage is not verified by Samsung. Since the introduction of the Galaxy S27 series is still a long time away, the details seen in the prototype and CAD studies are likely to change until the final devices.
Another claim that appeared before was that Samsung was preparing the Galaxy S27 Ultra in two different sizes. However, Ice Universe disagreed with this comment and stated that the smaller phone in the leaked images is not a second version of the Galaxy S27 Ultra. According to the source, the device in question is the Galaxy S27 Pro, which has been rumored for a while now. It is claimed that this model will use the new rear camera layout prepared for the Galaxy S27 Ultra, but will not offer internal S Pen support. So even if the two phones have a similar camera design externally, the S Pen slot can make it easier to distinguish the Ultra model.
Information on the camera side also shows that Samsung may make some changes to its current approach. It is claimed that there will be a system consisting of three cameras on the back of the Galaxy S27 Ultra. However, there is not yet clear information about the resolution of the sensors, the lenses used and the zoom options. Therefore, it is too early to say how this will affect photo and video performance if the number of cameras is reduced or a different layout is switched. Not only the number of sensors in the camera hardware, but also the sensor size, optical structure and image processing software have a direct impact on the result obtained.
Another common feature for the Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro is related to screen privacy. Allegedly, both models will benefit from the Privacy Display feature offered on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This technology aims to limit the ability of people around the user to see the content on the screen by making it difficult to view the screen from certain angles. The fact that the feature is also carried over to the Pro model indicates that Samsung may not limit some high-end display technologies only to Ultra. Despite this, it should not be forgotten that information about the model distribution and feature differences of the Galaxy S27 family is based on leaks for now.
Considering the details revealed so far together, it is expected that more limited adjustments will be made to the external design of the Galaxy S27 Ultra rather than a comprehensive change. Dimensions close to the Galaxy S26 Ultra, S Pen slot and speaker grill in the same place suggest that the current ergonomics will be largely preserved. The new look in the rear camera section may be the most noticeable design change between the two generations. The claim that the Galaxy S27 Pro will share some features such as a similar camera layout and Privacy Display also shows that the distinction between the two high-end models can be made through more prominent hardware features such as S Pen. Until official information comes from Samsung, it is useful to approach the details that emerge with caution, especially regarding the camera system and the position of the Galaxy S27 Pro in the series.
