Galaxy S26 enables AirDrop-like sharing with iPhone

Samsung, Galaxy S26 announced that it will offer AirDrop-like support with its series, which enables direct wireless file sharing with iPhones. This step makes data transfer, which has been limited for a long time, practical between Android and iOS devices. You can now send photos, videos and documents quickly between the two platforms.

At the end of last year, Google QuickShare It took the first concrete step towards iPhone compatibility by expanding its infrastructure. The company first activated this system in the Pixel 10 series and announced that it will be activated on more Android devices throughout 2026. This plan aims to create a common sharing standard on Android.

On the hardware side, Qualcomm stepped in. Explaining that the Snapdragon platform will support this infrastructure, the company clarified that manufacturers can use the system on a wide scale. Thus, the software and hardware sides met at the same point.

Samsung Galaxy S26 supports AirDrop-like sharing

The system that Samsung will offer with the Galaxy S26, QuickShare It brings together Apple’s AirDrop approach. The devices first find each other via Bluetooth, and data transfer occurs at high speed via Wi-Fi. In this way, large files reach the other party in a short time.

Samsung will not keep this feature limited to the new model only. The company states that it will also bring support to other Galaxy models with updates. This expansion makes sending files between Android and iOS devices more accessible.

This support, which comes with the Galaxy S26, facilitates direct data transfer between devices using different platforms. Users can share files without installing additional applications.
