Galaxy S25 FE gets direct file sharing support to iPhone with One UI 9

Galaxy S25 FE started to receive direct file sharing support to Apple devices with the One UI 9 update. AirDrop compatibility, which Samsung has expanded to different Galaxy models, this time reaches the 2025 model of the FE family. The new option that users see enables sharing with Apple devices in the phone’s Quick Share settings.

Android Authority conveys the feature through the update information and user screenshots shared by Tarun Vats on October 6. Besides, Samsung’s SM-S731B update record lists the One UI 9 version released on the same day. However, the software record of a single region does not show that it was distributed to all phones in Türkiye at the same time.

The new sharing option does not install Apple’s AirDrop app on the Galaxy phone. Samsung establishes close-range transfers between compatible Apple devices with its Quick Share interface. Therefore, users can start the file selection and sending process from the existing sharing flow on the Galaxy side.

Samsung’s official Quick Share guide explains how connectivity with Apple devices works. The guide asks to properly turn on AirDrop visibility on the receiving side and enable the sharing option with Apple devices on the Galaxy side. On the other hand, since the model list of the guide changes over time, it is necessary to separately check the newly distributed version for the S25 FE.

Quick Share update makes transfers between different devices easier

The daily usage equivalent of the feature is to be able to send a photo or document to a nearby supported device without uploading it to another messaging service. In addition, there is no need to have a Galaxy phone on the other side. iPhone users can also target the visible Galaxy device by selecting AirDrop from their sharing menu.

Sharing settings as well as the current software of the phone affect the result. After installing the update, the user can check whether the sharing option with Apple devices is available in Quick Share. If the option is not visible, simply carrying the same model name does not prove that the deployment has been completed on that device.

In file sharing, visibility and access permission must be evaluated together. Just because the receiving device appears in the environment does not mean that it will accept every incoming transmission unconditionally. In addition, users can send the file to the correct person by checking the device name in the sharing window; can limit visibility again after the transfer is complete.

Samsung’s support in March started with the Galaxy S26 family; subsequent updates expand the coverage of different models. The new option in the S25 FE also forms part of this process. Current information does not give an exact same-day launch date for other FE models or all Galaxy A phones.
