First details have arrived for HMD’s new phone Thunder Pro

The first information about HMD Global’s new smartphone model has emerged. According to information provided by an X account that previously shared accurate leaks about the HMD brand, the company is working on a new model called HMD Thunder Pro. The technical specifications and some images of the device, which has not been officially announced yet, have already leaked to the internet. The model, which is expected to be positioned in the middle segment, draws attention especially with its large battery and OLED screen.

According to leaked information, HMD Thunder Pro will come with a 6.67-inch OLED screen. It is stated that the panel, which offers Full HD + resolution, supports a 90 Hz refresh rate. This screen structure will provide a more fluid experience in daily use, while providing higher contrast and more vibrant colors thanks to the OLED panel. Despite this, the device’s processor choice indicates a more modest profile on the performance side.

On the camera side of the phone, there are three different striking elements. While the main camera includes a 50-megapixel sensor with optical image stabilization support, it is accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. On the front, there is a selfie camera with a resolution of 50 megapixels. Keeping the front camera resolution especially high shows that it targets users who attach importance to video calling and social media use. However, no further details about additional camera sensors or video capabilities have been shared yet.

HMD Thunder Pro stands out with its large battery capacity

On the hardware side of the device, there is a Unisoc T620 processor. This chipset is accompanied by 8 GB RAM and 256 GB UFS 2.2 storage. Although the UFS 2.2 standard offers sufficient speed in the basic user experience, it lags behind faster storage solutions in current flagship phones. Despite this, it is expected to offer sufficient performance in areas such as daily application use, social media and multimedia consumption.

Battery capacity stands out as one of the most striking aspects of the model. It is stated that HMD Thunder Pro will come with a 6000 mAh capacity battery and offer 20W wired charging support. This capacity can provide long battery life even with heavy use. However, 20W charging support is not considered a very fast solution by today’s standards. However, considering the large battery capacity, it seems that the device offers a more endurance-oriented usage experience.

Other features of the phone include NFC support, 3.5 mm headphone jack, dual microphone and dual speaker system. In addition, it is stated that the device is resistant to dust and splashes of water thanks to its IP65 certification. In particular, the fact that the headphone jack is protected can be considered a positive detail for users who prefer wired audio accessories.

HMD Global has recently been focusing more on products that highlight its own brand. The fact that the company develops models with the HMD logo in addition to Nokia branded devices shows its approach to diversifying its product range. It is understood that the Thunder Pro model will also try to compete in the price-performance focused segment. Although the official launch date has not yet been determined, the increase in leaks indicates that the device may be announced soon.
