DJI Osmo Pocket 4 launch date announced: Here are the first details

DJI is preparing to renew its compact gimbal camera series and has officially confirmed that Osmo Pocket 4 models will be introduced on April 16. The information shared before the launch, which will take place at 14.00 Türkiye time, shows that the new generation will bring some remarkable improvements, especially in terms of image quality and ease of daily use. It appears that the company maintains the portability balance it achieved in the previous model, Osmo Pocket 3, but focuses on improving the technical features.

The phrase “numerous images in one inch” in the short promotional image published by DJI directly points to the change on the sensor side. This emphasis reinforces the expectation of significant progress, especially in areas such as low-light performance and dynamic range. In the portable camera segment, these two elements have practical consequences for both amateur users and content creators.

Looking at the design of the new model, it seems that DJI has largely retained the existing form factor. The camera module positioned at the top and the rotatable screen at the bottom continue the familiar structure of the Osmo Pocket series. In addition, the physical controls placed around the hinge also attract attention. Zoom control and a customizable button aim to make the usage experience smoother by providing faster intervention during shooting.

DJI Osmo Pocket 4 technical expectations and possible Pro model

The standard Osmo Pocket 4 model is expected to come with a 1-inch sensor. While it is stated that this sensor will offer up to 14 stops of dynamic range, it is stated that 10-bit D-Log support will be maintained. These features mean greater flexibility, especially for users who want to make color adjustments later. Despite this, one of the curious points is what kind of balance this level of technical features will offer in terms of heating and battery consumption in a compact body.

On the other hand, it is said that a “Pro” version is on the agenda, although it has not been officially confirmed yet. It is stated that this model may have a dual camera system. Such a structure can be advantageous in terms of switching between different focal lengths or providing more options in various shooting scenarios. However, how this approach will affect the size and price of the device will become clear after the introduction.

Small but functional innovations on the hardware side also attract attention. It is stated that the device can offer 107 GB of internal storage and data transfer speeds can reach up to 800 MB/s. Such improvements make file management easier, especially for users who shoot frequently, and also save time. In addition, high-speed data transfer makes it more practical to transfer content to mobile devices or computers.

Rather than making a radical design change in the Osmo Pocket 4 series, DJI seems to have focused on making the existing structure more efficient. The increase in image quality, more flexible control options and accelerated workflow stand out as improvements that directly translate into daily use. Despite this, the differences and pricing policy offered by the possible Pro model will be among the main factors that will determine the position of the series among users.
