It is stated that some lines of code detected within the company’s AI Core application directly reference the Dimensity 9500 chipset by model number. Although the codes in question do not clearly indicate which product the device is, the signs point towards the Galaxy Tab S12 series. The fact that Samsung has chosen MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+ processor in the last generation Galaxy Tab S11 models strengthens this possibility. For this reason, the switch to Dimensity 9500 in the new tablet family is not considered a surprise.
The Galaxy Tab S11 series was announced in early September last year. If the current schedule is maintained, the Galaxy Tab S12 models are expected to be introduced in a similar period. Looking at the strategy followed by Samsung in its tablet product range in recent years, it is seen that the standard model and the Plus variant are offered alternately. In previously revealed information, it was stated that the Galaxy Tab S12 + and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra models were under development. Although technical details about the Dimensity 9500 processor, which MediaTek has not yet officially announced, are limited, the new platform is expected to bring significant improvements in artificial intelligence operations and graphics performance. In particular, the fact that productive artificial intelligence-supported applications are becoming more widespread in the Android ecosystem is directing tablet manufacturers to processors with more powerful NPU units. The presence of references to this processor in Samsung’s AI Core application also suggests that the company is working on artificial intelligence-oriented features.
In addition, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra model is expected to be the most advanced option of the series in terms of screen, battery and multitasking experience.
