Deepseek uses Huawei’s Ascend 910C chip

While the global competition in the field of artificial intelligence is getting hot every day, China -based Deepseek AI is one of the most striking companies of the last period. The company claims to develop Deepseek R1, which is a large language model (LLM), offers a much more efficient solution compared to US competitors in terms of performance and cost. Deepseek AI’s open -source chat boat has achieved a significant success by entering the App Store’s most popular applications in 51 countries.

However, it is not only software, but also strong hardware support. According to the latest information; Deepseek AI uses Huawei’s Ascend 910C artificial intelligence chip in the inference process. During the training of the model, Nvidia’s powerful H100 GPU comes into play. The inference process stands out as a critical stage that directly affects the speed and efficiency of the model as the trained artificial intelligence model allows users to respond to users.

According to leakage sources, the Ascend 910C chip is used only in inferences, so there is no need for a large GPU power during the training process. However, the Ascend 910C is not enough for model training due to relatively lower performance. However, Huawei is in the stage of developing the new generation Ascend 920C chip to overcome this problem.

The new chip aims to compete with the Nvidia Blackwell B200, one of the most powerful solutions in the field of artificial intelligence. Huawei aims to strengthen China’s semi -conductive independence despite the restrictions on US sanctions by accelerating the progress in the field of artificial intelligence.

While the Chinese government’s investments in artificial intelligence technologies are increasing, the chips developed by local companies will increase their competitiveness in the global market. Deepseek AI’s use of Huawei’s Ascend 910C chips is considered to be part of China’s strategy to increase technological independence against the United States.

Huawei’s work on artificial intelligence chips can enable Chinese technology giants to be more powerful in the international market. While the company plans to directly rival Nvidia with the Ascend 920C chip, this move can greatly shape China’s future in the field of artificial intelligence.
