Comprehensive support for Steam Deck and AMD based devices with Steamos 3.7.8

Valve finally launched the Steamos 3.7.8 update, which he has been working on for a long time. This version of this version, not only Steam Deck users, but also AMD -based third -party portable game devices directly of interest. This update, which was previously in beta and preview stages, is now open to general distribution. Valve announced its first official support especially for the Lenovo Legion Go S model with this version.

The new version not only offers hardware compatibility, but also includes a special Steamos recovery image for Windows -based devices with AMD processor. This was an important step for users who want to install Steamos on devices like ASUS ROG ALLY and the first generation Legion Go. Valve’s previously proposed complex methods were now replaced by official documents and clear instructions. However, the support for these devices is still not accepted.

Valve has expanded the software limits on both Steam Deck and AMD devices with Steamos 3.7.8

For Steam Deck owners, this update brings many innovations in software. Bluetooth headphone microphones have long been expected to work in desktop mode. Thanks to HFP and HSP profiles, this has become possible. Although there is no support in game mode yet, this development in desktop mode is remarkable.

In addition, the remote opening of the screen with Bluetooth control is no longer limited to OLED models. LCD screen models have also achieved this functionality. In the usage scenarios of TV, this has become more flexible together. Users can now start their devices directly.

In spite of everything, some innovations attract attention on the hardware protection side. In order to extend the charging life of the device, 80 percent charging limit was added. This can be preserved, especially the battery health of the devices that are kept in constant charging. Square speed limitation option was also offered for screens offering variable renewal speed.

In addition, the control of P-State frequencies in AMD processors is now left to the user. In this way, more precise adjustments can be made between performance and energy consumption. All these changes show that the system is not only on the surface but also in the nucleus. The current version of Arch Linux, the new Mesa graphic drivers and the more advanced plasma desktop environment are included in this infrastructure updates.

Valve began to exhibit a more clear attitude not only in the software, but also on the hardware side. The updated Steamos FAS Document has an open invitation to third -party manufacturers. Valve for licensed devices with the phrase “Powered by Steamos” opens its door to producers who want to cooperate. This means that Steamos can reach more producers in the coming period.

Nevertheless, the sector has still erected Valve’s potential new equipment. Rumors about the long -term wireless VR title “Deckard” continue to increase. This device is thought to bring a Steamos -based experience for the living room. In addition, Valve’s hardware plans are more visible and systematically shaped.
